I finally did it! Simpson’s twice in the same week allowed me the opportunity to trespass off piste and go for the lamb. Delicate, succulent and tasty, I thought it was a little less than the beef, but it took that bit longer to eat than my friends who had stuck to tradition. That says it all. I feel a traitor to tradition to bypass the famous roast beef, because after all, it is Simpson’s. But I survived and the lamb didn’t, so a perfect evening all said.
