So I was really expecting to dislike this. I don’t like beetroot. (So why order it? I was curious and like trying new things!) Colour me surprised, it was actually lovely! For the uninitiated, there is no coffee in this kind of latte; the best way I can describe the flavour of this drink is almost like a mildly sweet hot chocolate style drink (in that it has the frothy milky texture of a nice hot chocolate, but doesn’t actually taste of chocolate). (Edit: on a subsequent visit I discovered this is actually a “Beetroot cacao latte” - so it probably actually did taste a bit of chocolate!) Mine was made with almond milk, as recommended by the barista as they were out of oat milk which they usually use for this.
