AMAZING
1st KOBE BEEF STEAK
Kurosawa, Kobe
Ribeye is always my go to cut of steak but this Kobe beef wagyu ribeye is on a whole new level. There is no better tasting red meat on the planet!
2nd KOBE BEEF STEAK
Mouriya, Kobe
Incredible A5 Kobe wagyu sirloin, expertly cooked rare on a teppanyaki. The marbling leads to an unreal tenderness and flavour that oozes with every chew.. Kobe beef is unrivalled in its majesty.
3rd PREMIUM KOBE HOT STONE
Hot Stone Steak and Sushi Bar, London
Deeply marbled, certified Kobe beef for hot stone cooking on your table. It's just 100g bit a superb, fatty and rich sample of the very best beef you can get. A treat for sure! šŸ˜‹šŸ„©
4th COTE DE BOEUF
The Beacon, Tunbridge Wells
Superb steak, medium rare as requested. Comes with an excellent bearnaise too
REALLY GOOD
5th RIBEYE STEAK
The Coal Shed Restaurant Brighton, Brighton
Expertly grilled ribeye. Comes with a choice of sauces (chimichurri, bearnaise or peppercorn) and really good chunky chips (not pictured)
6th RIBEYE STEAK
Mash, London
90-day aged Danish ribeye from MASH. Great crust formed during the Maillard reaction as a result. And look at that unctuous ball of fat in the centre of it. Delicious
7th HANGER STEAK
San Telmo, Melbourne
Generously seasoned with salt and pepper and expertly grilled. A much cheaper cut than others available but it was still a really good steak and relatively good value as such.
8th BISTECCA FIORENTINA
Trattoria ZĆ  ZĆ , Firenze
When in Florence, you gotta have a Fiorentina T-bone. It's a must-do. This beautiful medium rare steak gets a nice charred flavour off the grill and is well seasoned. An excellent price at ā‚¬45 per kg as well.
9th SIRLOIN STEAK
The Beacon, Tunbridge Wells
A great but not quite mind blowing dry aged sirloin. Aioli was a nice sauce and lovage gave some green leaf contrast.
10th T-BONE STEAK
Macellaio RC Union Street, London
860g of medium-rare T-bone steak šŸ„©šŸ˜‹šŸ‘ŒšŸ»
11th FILLET STEAK
Macellaio RC Union Street, London
300g fillet, medium rare šŸ„©šŸ˜‹šŸ‘ŒšŸ»
12th FILLET STEAK
Iron Steak and Bar Restaurant, Cape Town
Very soft and tender, as all fillet should be, yet managing to get a nice crust and flavour in.
13th STEAK AND CHIPS
The Star Inn The City, York
Good rump steak, seasoned well and seared nicely to medium finish. Fantastic fries too.
14th RIBEYE STEAK
McKirdy's Steakhouse, Edinburgh
Ribeye steak with Diane sauce and curly fries šŸ„©šŸ‘ŒšŸ»
15th BEEF FILLET
ROKA Charlotte Street, London
Beautiful cut, cooked medium rare and sliced thinly. Comes with a spicy soy sauce.
16th BEEF TENDERLOIN
Postigo do CarvĆ£o - Restaurante, Porto
Very nicely cooked tenderloin, seasoned well and pink in the centre. Young asparagus, garlicky potato, sweet potato and grilled pineapple slice and padron pepper give a range of contrasting tastes to go with it.
17th TENDERLOIN STEAK
Skopik & Lohn, Wien
Grilled medium rare tenderloin, with pan sauce, spinach cream, caramelised onion, roast potatoes, spinach salad, and bearnaise.
18th FILLET STEAK PREGO ROLL
Ramiro, Lisboa
It sounds odd that you'd come to this place for a seafood heavy meal, yet finish with the night with a simple, but very good quality fillet steak sandwich. #bifanas
PRETTY GOOD
19th PICANHA
Restaurante RogƩrio do Redondo, Porto
Juicy, well-seasoned picanha with fries and garlicky greens. Super generous portion for less than ā‚¬20.
20th PORTERHOUSE
The Coal Shed, London
700g medium rare porterhouse on the bone, with bearnaise sauce. Good but under-seasoned for my palate. More salt!
21st STEAK AND EGGS
JaK's Grill, Seattle
10oz NY strip steak, medium rare off the grill, with house potatoes, biscuit, and sunny side up eggs. Really good and didn't need to eat another whole meal again so it's a good value brunch in that respect, despite it being the priciest item on the brunch menu at $23.
22nd BISTECCA FIORENTINA
La Cantinaccia del Popolo, Sorrento
Big Fiorentina T-bone at just ā‚¬30 per kg. I like it a little more seasoned, but cooked to nice, pink medium-rare. šŸ„©
23rd PICANHA
Iron Steak and Bar Restaurant, Cape Town
Great flavour and well seasoned neat. But not medium rare as requested (it was medium well, so two levels out). Shame as it could have been top tier.
24th STEAK AND CHIPS
The Guinea, Royal Tunbridge Wells
Good quality, dry-aged rump steak on fries topped off with a chunky chimichurri. Steak was cooked nicely (med-rare) but the dish was a little lacklustre overall because the chimichurri had little heat or zing. Too coarse and not enough olive oil in it.
25th BEEF TENDERLOIN
Stara Kamienica, Warszawa
Main course of Polish beef tenderloin served on roast vegetables, boletus mushrooms, truffle oil and finished with a demi glace sauce šŸ„©šŸ„šŸ„•šŸ„”
26th SIRLOIN STEAK
Parrillan, London
Thin cut sirloin steaks from a 28 day, dry aged dairy cow. Bit too thin to grill well I'm my experience here but it nonetheless tastes good. The Romesco sauce it comes with was terrific and really elevates it.
27th 10OZ RIBEYE STEAK
Melissa's Missteak, Banff
Decent 10oz ribeye that was well-seasoned as it went onto the grill. Asked for medium rare but this was closer to medium. Sides a bit disappointing though - no seasoning on the veg that were just steamed/boiled. Mash was lumpy and probably made without any dairy to make it richer. French fries is the standard side listed on the menu, so stick with that in future. Note, this was eaten in their upstairs lounge bar rather than the main restaurant. Maybe the restaurant gets the better stuff?
28th PRIME RIB
Simon & Seafort's Saloon & Grill, Anchorage
Decent Prime Rib but yukon gold mash was dense and uninspiring to eat
29th STEAK & RICE BOWL
Revel, Seattle
Kalbi Steak Rice bowl with kimchi radishes, lettuce and raw egg yolk to mix together
JUST OK
30th NY STRIP STEAK
Argo Cafe, Vancouver
The NY strip steak from the specials menu. Too thin a cut so my request for medium rare was pretty much impossible to do without a fancy sous vide or time consuming reverse sear technique. So yeah, overcooked in the end. Sides were fine if unremarkable sauce was good though. Couldn't expect much for CAD$17.
