AMAZING
1st 叁末蕹菜 SAMBAL KANG KONG

I’m rarely excited by sambal kang kong; they have all (or largely) been mediocre in my experience. But this was surprisingly and incredibly delicious for its depth and complexity of flavor.
2nd ROASTED HARISSA CAULIFLOWER

BRIEF: Roasted Cauliflower, Harissa, Hummus, Pickled Pomegranate SOOT’S TAKE: I’m not a fan of cauliflower but this was revelatory: the char on the cauliflower + hummus were a match made in heaven. I was not expecting to be a cauliflower convert tonight.
3rd DEEP FRIED KANG KONG W/SPECIAL THAI SAUCE 香炸空心菜配特制泰式酱

These are so addictive! The accompanying spicy dip is the Ying to the Yang of the fried kang kong. The experience is incomplete without the dip.

This was tasty too and stir-fried kankung rarely excites me. I think I tasted kicap manis.

I’d first heard of OmniMeat through years worth of IG posts of home cooked meals from a vegan Hong Kong-based ex-classmate. So imagine my curiosity when I saw that this resto had a plant-based section in their menu featuring OmniMeat! I’m not sure what thread is (presumably a substitute for minced pork?), but it worked with the string beans which were deliciously fresh and seasoned.

Cauliflower griddle fried in spices. The green(ish) cauliflower makes a repeat appearance tonight, this time spiced with something I’m unfamiliar with. Tastiest cauliflower ever.

Golden Lotus Roots w Pumpkin: Thinly sliced crispy lotus root tossed & coated in a layer of delectable salted egg sauce. Great start to the meal.

23rd BEETROOT AND FIGS ON CHICKPEA CREAM

The beets had the aftertaste of fresh corn and the figs were sweet.
25th MASTERCLASS’S OKRA WITH SHALLOTS

Sautéed in a tadka of cumin before further aromatizing with a bunch of sliced shallots, coriander, chili flakes and brightened with a squeeze of lemon.
