REALLY GOOD
1st BREAKFAST SAMPLER
Velo Cafe, Interlaken
A little bit of everything! You get delicious avocado toast with a poached egg, a granola pot with vegan yoghurt, and a glass of fresh orange juice. Perfect start to the day!
2nd SAUSAGE MCGRIDDLES® WITH EGG MEAL
McDonald's Metropolis, Singapore
Eaten tells me I first (and last) had a Sausage McGriddles® With Egg some 488 days ago. Seemed appropriate to make up for that with a meal today 16 hours after my last (although the coffee was a tad watered down). Curiously, there was a smoky quality to the coffee, as I soon noticed I was exhaling cigarette smok-ish breath.
PRETTY GOOD
3rd GRUYERE EGG SOUFFLE STYLE WITH SIGNATURE SAUSAGE AND MUSHROOM RAGOUT

“A refined egg souffle style crafted from local farm eggs, creamy cottage cheese, and aged Gruyere, gently baked for a light, airy texture.Accompanied by our signature spiral chicken sausage, umami-rich mushroom ragout, sauteed spinach, and vine-ripened cherry tomatoes, delicately roasted.”
4th SIGNATURE BREAKFAST SET

Scrambled Eggs, Butter and Condensed Milk with Toast
JUST OK
8th 四大金刚
Zao an Shan Qiu, Shang Hai Shi
AKA the ‘Four Breakfast Warriors’, a Shanghainese breakfast staple, which supposedly consists of 4 items: 1. Dou jiang | 豆浆(soy milk) 2. You tiao | 油条 (fried dough sticks) 3. Ci fan tuan | 粢饭团 (stuffed sticky rice) 4. Da bing | 大饼 (Chinese sesame pancake) I think, in hindsight, we were handed some (rather bland) items other than the da bing or the ci fan tuan I thought were typical in this quartet. Anyhoo, the dou jiang (soy milk) wasn’t as sweet as they serve it in Singapore and I think I prefer my own you tiao (fried dough fritters). I shall attempt the da bing and the fan tuan at home sometime.
