REALLY GOOD
1st HOLIDAY PANCAKE
Melange Restaurant, London
Holiday pancakes were fluffy and delicious.
2nd BUTTERMILK PANCAKES
Cut the Mustard, London
Cut the Mustard cafe is a cute little spot in Streatham. We are here for some BUTTERMILK PANCAKES with bacon and maple syrup. For some reason I opt for bacon rather than my usual blueberry as toppings. Bacon and maple syrup work wonderfully well with the pancakes, delicious as everyone else says. They do amazing sourdough too! We sat right next to the shelf for sourdough and it was very popular!
JUST OK
3rd BUTTERMILK PANCAKES
Chiltern Firehouse, London
Really enjoy the crust, it's nicely done. Blueberry, crème fraîche and maple syrup is always a classic pancake combo. Flavour of pancake was good but nothing spectacular. Certainly not worth £15 and I don't get the excitement of "It's so good, I have to come back tomorrow". Blueberries and crème fraîche are served separately from the pancakes so presentation is not great and I feel like I'm doing the chef's job for him to make the dish presentable. Service is not the best, doesn't justify the 15% service charge. And they cheekily add £1 for 'charity' in the bill without letting us know what it is and where the money is going. Also, they get the maths wrong by overcharging us by pennies, probably thinking it's only pennies and we won't notice. Some of my friends love the pancakes here but in my opinion they are very overhyped
4th RED VELVET PANCAKES
Polo Bar, London
Pancakes are too dry and not fluffy enough for my liking.
5th BLUEBERRY PANCAKES
St Pancras Brasserie and Champagne Bar by Searcys, London
Relaxing place to chill while waiting for friends or for a train yourself. Heating under the table is great for anyone who is finding this weather cold. Pancakes were a bit disappointing. Wish they were less dry, had more flavour and had blueberries inside.
