AMAZING
1st TONKOTSU SHIO RAMEN
Boxer Ramen, Portland
Includes pork belly, a soft poached egg and scallions in a traditional broth. The serving is plenty to satisfy. The broth and ramen were very good.
2nd SPICY RED MISO RAMEN
Boxer Ramen, Portland
This was perfect for lunch on a chilly December afternoon. The broth was spicy and had plenty of pork meat bits. Add to that the pork belly and soft poached egg... so nummy!
REALLY GOOD
3rd MISO RAMEN
Noraneko, Portland
I ordered my miso ramen with poached chicken breast, and special egg. The ramen was fresh and the miso broth perfect.
4th SHOYU RAMEN WITH SIDE ORDER OF EGG
Noraneko, Portland
My first time having ramen at Noraneko... so I wanted to sample a pretty basic combo. The pork soup broth was good and the ramen was pretty fresh. I opted for just egg, but they also offer sides of pork belly chasyu, classic chasyu, corn butter, fried ota tofu, and extra garlic.
5th PORK BONE DASHI
Boke Bowl, Portland
Slow smoked pulled pork, soy, bonito.
6th PAITAN SHIO RAMEN
Marukin Ramen, Portland
Chicken-based broth, toped with charsu chicken, vegetables, soft boiled egg. The broth is creamy vs. the typical tonkotsu broth. After trying this, I prefer the tonkotsu. The ramen is of decent quality. This bowl on the whole is well put together.
7th PAITAN SHIO RAMEN
Marukin Ramen, Portland
Rich chicken based broth topped with chashu chicken slices, seasonal vegetables and soft boiled egg.
9th TONKATSU RAMEN
Hapa PDX Ramen & Whiskey, Portland
Pork bone broth. Topped with cha shu pork, memma & marinated egg.
10th YUZU SHOYU RAMEN
AFURI ramen+dumpling Slabtown, Portland
Shoyu tare, chicken broth, bamboo shoot, frisee, charshu, egg, nori, yuzu, thin noodle.
13th SPICY CHICKEN MISO W/CHICKEN SAUSAGE
Boke Bowl, Portland
Again... good ramen noodles in a spicy chicken miso soup, and it was plenty spicy for me. This order came with a nummy chicken sausage that was sliced into bite sized pieces. Fresh ramen is sooooo good!
14th SPICY TSUKEMEN
AFURI IZAKAYA, Portland
This was my 1st time having tsukemen. Though I prefer ramen... this was a pretty good experience. Afuri's ramen noodles really shine here. Since they are not swimming in broth... no chance of getting really soggy. Spicy soy tsuyu, chashu pork, egg, endive, chili, bamboo shoots, scallion, sesame seed & nori. Yummy!!
15th TORIGARA SHOYU RAMEN
AFURI IZAKAYA, Portland
Afuri makes their own fresh ramen. In this order, they served it up with shimeji mushrooms, chashu, a seasoned egg, endive and nori seaweed. The broth was very tasty. I would order this again.
16th KAMA-TAMA RAMEN
Shigezo, Portland
House made thick ramen noodles & bean sprouts tossed in a bonito seasoned soy sauce & onion oil, topped with smoked chashu chicken tender, green onions, tempura puffs and a soft egg. This is ramen bowl does not contain broth.
17th PORK DASHI RAMEN
Boke Bowl, Portland
Lunch today: ramen. I ordered my pork dashi bowl with a slow poached egg and pork belly. My tummy was happy!
17th PORK DASHI RAMEN
Boke Bowl, Portland
I ordered it with a poached egg this time... popped it... yolk covered everything... So very yumski!!!
18th MISO RAMEN
TOKYO-YA RAMEN, Portland
Pork bone broth, seared cha-shu pork belly, bamboo, wakame, tamago, fish cake, black wood ear mushroom.
19th TAN TAN RAMEN
TOKYO-YA RAMEN, Portland
Pork bone broth, seared cha-shu pork belly, bamboo, chili, wakame, tamago, fish cake, black wood ear mushroom.
20th TONKOTSU RAMEN
Anna Thai Basil 3272 SE Hawthorne Blvd, Portland
Pork bone-flavored soup with pork, egg and menna. The soup base is quite good, and the pork was slightly fatty, yum! For me the egg was perfect, the yolk was still runny. The portion is plenty to satisfy.
21st TONKOTSU RED RAMEN
Pine Street Market, Portland
This serving of ramen was perfectly sized for lunch. The spicy pork bone broth was good, but not really spicy enough for me. The ramen was fresh. Overall a great bowl of ramen.
22nd GUCHI'S MIDNIGHT RAMEN
Pagu, Cambridge
The pork was tender and yumski. The ramen and the broth, both matched for one another. The portion is slightly smaller than the typical, but still plenty to satisfy.
23rd CURRY RAMEN WITH PORK BELLY CHASYU
Noraneko, Portland
My wife tried this... the chicken curry broth was spicy, and the ramen was pretty well made, not soggy. She added a side of pork belly chasyu.
24th TAN TAN MEN
Soup Shack Porter (Cambridge), Cambridge
Spicy tonkotsu pork broth, cha-shu pork, spicy ground pork, bok choy, bean sprouts, scallions, nori, sesame seeds and spicy sesame oil
PRETTY GOOD
25th KONKOTSU RAMEN
Safframen, Portland
Aka corn ramen. Plant based tonkotsu-style broth with UMI noodles, infused parsley-garlic oil, topped with scallion, corn, sumac tofu, fried onions & sesame seeds. My 1st vegan ramen bowl. The ramen noodles were very good. All of the ingredients were fresh. The tofu mimics pork... But doesn't hide that it is tofu. Overall a well put together bowl of ramen.
26th KUMAMOTO RAMEN
Shigezo, Portland
This was a large order so that everyone on the table could try it. Very good ramen, though the broth was a bit saltier than I prefer. There could have also been a little more meat. Still, overall a good dish.
27th ABU RAMEN
Shigezo, Portland
My wife's choice on this visit. She enjoyed it very much.
28th YUZU SHIO
AFURI ramen + dumpling, Portland
Shop tare, chicken broth, chicken fat, yuzu, bamboo, egg, chashu pork, endive, fried garlic, nori. My wife felt that the chicken broth was missing something.
