REALLY GOOD
1st CHILLI PAN MEE (DRY)
Restoran Super Kitchen Chilly Pan Mee, Petaling Jaya
This bowl of noodles comes with a runny egg, fried ikan bilis (anchovies), minced pork and fried shallots. Scoop as much or as little of the dried chilli mixture that’s available on every table as you like and mix everything up thoroughly. Go easy and add the chilli gradually because that stuff is potent. You will cry.
2nd MEE HOON KUEH (SOUP)
Restoran Super Kitchen Chilly Pan Mee, Petaling Jaya
This was waaaaay above my expectations. The soup was full of umami from the fried ikan bilis and mushrooms, and naturally sweetened by the sayur manis. Those hand-torn noodles were just the right thickness, and had a nice chew. Not too hard, not too soggy. Great for a rainy night!
PRETTY GOOD
3rd MALA DRY PAN MEE
AEON Supermarket, Puchong
If you cannot handle spicy food at all, stay away from this. You will die. Not only is it spicy but it is also very numbing. But I like to torture myself so I will get this again in future.
