a little explanation is needed - road to Santiago is called Saint Jacques way - Scallops in French is coquille Saint-Jacques. This salad is a great little dish, scallops seared perfectly, radiccio castell franco/radiccio di trevisa, saffron emulsion, sorrel and borage. Great flavor combination, and those scallops...

Well hello kitchen, again! Out comes this lovely little plate of food - a raw scallop, super thin-shaved pear, wasabi pear ice cream (the BEST part!) and some little vanilla crouton bits. So lovely. So lively. Such an interesting mix of flavors. Excellent!

Amicably shared by the Carastians were these lovely scallops with a solid good sear on them, topping a wild herb and lettuce salad. Colorful smears of spicy mango/chili sauce really brought the whole dish together - although Mrs. C felt the tomatoes (although fresh and tasty!) did not quite fit.
