REALLY GOOD
1st TARTE FLAMBÉE (FLAMMKUCHEN)
CafélotteBar, Bad Aibling
Classic Carastian lunch on Sundays. Crispy paper thin pie with tasty Speck and onions on sour cream. Perfect with a beer
1st TARTE FLAMBÉE (FLAMMKUCHEN)
CafélotteBar, Bad Aibling
As you can see from this massively repeated spot (apologies) we love that Tarte flambé. And apparently helped to fund the expansion of the place to the next shop down - doubling their space now. oh well.. still we will go back. wafer thin crispy pie, onions and crispy smokey bacon... love on a board.

Before we will take you back to our next birthday weekend Michelin Star dining- the weather report is in: 16C, sunny and a high probability of Tarte flambé classic:-)
2nd TARTE FLAMBÉE (FLAMMKUCHEN)
Eataly Munich, München
a little bit of the classic confusion of the little one Pfannenkuchen versus Flammkuchen tee hee. he likes the Flammkuchen still though he picked of that crispy bacon (yes, he is my son. It was confirmed via DNA testing.. strange about the bacon though). wafer thin pie, with sour cream, onions and bacon bits. Still prefer Lotte Bar Flammkuchen though
3rd TARTE FLAMBÉE (FLAMMKUCHEN)
La Casserole, Baden-Baden
Easily making up for the earlier Flammkuchen disaster - this Alsatian delight was pure gold. Paper thin crust, fresh creme fraiche, crispy bacon and onion bits. PERFECTION.
4th TARTE FLAMBÉE (FLAMMKUCHEN)
Weingut Schlöder-Thielen, Longuich
What a sad little dish.... especially in the region it's famous for. The crust was clearly prepared food (instead of gorgeous handmade) and the frisch kaese was not so fresh tasting. Another funny note would be that there were 3 Flammkuchens on the menu - classic with ham and onions, vegetarian and Mediterranean. When we asked the surly waitress the difference between the veg and the med, she said 'OLIVES'. Duh.
NOT FOR ME
5th TARTE FLAMBÉE (FLAMMKUCHEN)
Wirtshaus am Bavariapark, München
Mr. C should have thrown this right on the ground - it was just that bad (and much more deserving than that beautiful platter from the other day!). Crappy frozen prepared food. Not. Having. It.
