REALLY GOOD
1st INDIAN SPICED CORN FRITTERS WITH BACON
Megalong Valley Tea Rooms, Megalong Valley
Fantastic Fritters - subtly spiced with a tasty tomato salsa, smashed avo, crispy bacon and a housemade chutney which all worked together brilliantly. Lovely texture to the Fritters too.
2nd CORN FRITTERS WITH SMASHED AVOCADO AND SCRAMBLED EGGS
The Bunker Cafe Bar Restaurant, Springwood
Now this is what I’m talking about! A full, delicious plate! Fritters were delicious, scramblies nice and soft, smoked salmon a lovely addition. My only grumble would be that the “smashed” avo was sliced, not smashed. And just slightly too hard for my liking. Small grumbles though, a lovely dish. The herby salad was lovely too!
3rd CORN FRITTERS WITH BACON AND POACHED EGG
Lantana Shoreditch, London
Lovely fritter, crispy bacon, nice sides. The egg was a bit meh, but otherwise a roundly good dish!
4th CORN AND KALE FRITTERS
Ben's Canteen, Clapham Junction, London
I got this with the side of house #bacon - delicious choice as it’s thick cut and delicious. Was marginally disappointed to only have one egg, but actually the meal was really filling, so I think it was a good balance in the end. The egg yolk was also the most vibrant orange I’ve ever seen! The critters themselves were everything you’d want from a corn fritter.
PRETTY GOOD
5th MEXICAN STYLE CORN FRITTERS
Cafe 89, Mudgee
These Fritters had a fresh, bright taste; my complaint is that they fell apart as soon as the fork touched them which made them difficult to eat. Still a nice dish though!
6th CORN FRITTERS WITH BACON AND POACHED EGG
Lantana London Bridge, London
Ordered mine with the poached egg extra. The fritter itself was tasty but a bit dry for my taste - so the egg yolk helped in that regard. Bacon nice and crispy and nice avocado
