IT’S MINCE PIE SEASON!!! This one is on the smaller side, shallow-fill but a lovely crumbly sablé pastry - which I really like - and delicious fruit mince filling. #christmas

A crisp pastry shell, quite a shallow tart, but they made up for it in sheer size. Not too shabby at all, Costa.

A nice deep-dish mince pie. The pastry was ok, just basic shortcrust, not as nice as the Leon pastry, but more generous with the (tasty) mince filling.

Quite short, crisp pastry; a very deep pie, the fruit mince was nice and flavoursome but as you can see from the pic, half of it was filled with a fine crumb that didn’t seem to have any particular flavour so it really didn’t add to the experience for me.

It was alright but the gingerbread crust was a bit claggy (vegan pastry strikes again). It also did not taste much like gingerbread (I like mine heavily spiced and zingy!) The filling was tasty though.

No. I mean my expectations were low, it’s a train station coffee chain... but this pie.. it’s like half full of fruit mince and then filled the rest of the way with this spongey frangipane (which also repacked the top crust). I see what they were going for, but no.
