Amazing banoffee style #donut Crosstown use sourdough for their #doughnuts which give a lovely complex flavour to the doughnut itself. The banana cream is silky and tastes of actual bananas. Yum!

This could so easily be “too much” but the chocolate custard is so light and delicious, with a rich and slightly bitter (in a good way) chocolate flavour; so much better than something purely sweet. As with all BreadAhead doughnuts the dough itself is sublime. #donut #bakedgoods

So I’m more of a Crosstown-gal myself, but decided to give this a try as I love Apple and the Biscoff crumb sounded delish... It was soft, SO stuffed full of tangy apple pie filling with proper CHUNKS of apple, the biscoff crumb went everywhere... but I loved it. My only complaint is that it’s just a bit too big and a little difficult to eat. Can’t complain about that flavour though!

Delicious spiced apple and pear filling, cinnamon and pecan crumb on the outside. Delicious! Definitely the best vegan doughnut I’ve had.

A really striking and delicious doughnut. The tangy filling is lifted up by the addition of Yuzu and it’s sweet but not too sweet.

The filling in this doughnut is sublime. The freshest most delicious strawberry filling that tastes of actual strawberries (I can’t say that I noticed the Rosé flavour, but maybe it was enhancing the strawberry flavours generally). Not overly sweet or sticky, more like an actual strawberry purée. The dough was pretty good, it’s a vegan dough so that’s probably what stops this from being amazing, but still overall a really good doughnut.

Definitely one of their better vegan doughnuts (I am a fan of pumpkin though!) “vegan sourdough base, filled with a spiced pumpkin (vegan) custard, topped with a pumpkin glaze, and finished with a cinnamon and pumpkin seed crumble.” Lovely textural elements and not too sweet.

I was pleasantly surprised; despite being a vegan #donut there’s no detriment to taste. Zesty tropical flavours

This was my first day trying to eat less sugar/carbs. It didn’t end well. Anyway... Pros: lovely toffee flavoured custard, delicious chunk of daim bar on top, nice glaze Cons: it was cold? I don’t like cold pastries. And that blob of buttercream on top adds nothing and makes it too sweet, would have been much better without IMO.

Yum! If you like your doughnuts bready, soft and generously filled, you’ll love these!

That’s genuinely the name on their advertisement! In-store they were calling it a Crème Brûlée filled Doughnut. Both are fairly accurate descriptions and again I was quite pleasantly surprised. It was VERY soft, but not dry/stale which is the usual issue with chain store doughnuts. The crispy rice on top was a nice textural element.

This was actually pretty tasty. Nice coconut flavour in the icing and the pineappley custard in the middle was also lovely. My complaint is that it didn’t taste very fresh - the actual doughnut itself was on the dry side

“This bacon tastes weird” I thought before realising it obviously wasn’t real bacon given it’s a Vegan doughnut 🤦🏻‍♀️ ... It tasted ok but I have pretty high expectations from Crosstown and this didn’t blow me away. I didn’t taste banana, nor the saltiness I’d expect from a bacon-esque topping.

So this doughnut again tasted a bit dry in the cake-department. However it was generously filled with a really lovely silky custard which offset the dryness a bit.

I’ve never rated a Bread Ahead doughnut lower than “amazing” before, but this wasn’t great. I was partly disappointed because I’d actually wanted their Raspberry Cheesecake doughnut, not this one. And just as they gave me this, they brought out a fresh tray of these ones, so mine was clearly not-so-fresh. And it tasted it. Pretty disappointing.

I mean it wasn’t awful, it tasted mildly peanut buttery; but mostly tasted of sugar.

Not as nice as the other doughnuts I’ve bought from this cart - the cake tasted dry/stale and it was overall too sweet for me.

I knew straight away that I shouldn’t have ordered this, but I was under pressure from people behind me and a misbehaving toddler, and it seemed so festive. What it tasted like was sugar. Waaaaay too sweet for my palate. The actual donut cake was quite nice - soft and denser than I expected (obviously quite fresh) - I’ll definitely come back to try their other offerings

These were pretty basic. The plus is that they’re clearly made onsite daily, so they taste pretty fresh, but otherwise not very memorable. #bakedgoods

Whilst the crumb chunks were a nice textural element, I didn’t get any cheesecake flavours and the caramel was just sweet for me. Expected something more exciting from the name.
