AMAZING
1st BOSTON BROWNIE
Konditor, London
Fun story: when I moved back to the UK I went to K&C on the day I landed, specifically to get one of these brownies. They’re my current number 1 brownie of all time (and all the K&C brownies are pretty good!). This is a fudgy style of brownie, packed with chunks of dark chocolate and - the winning element - soft, super tart cranberries. It’s such a great flavour combo. Love love love. #bakedgoods
REALLY GOOD
2nd SALTED CARAMEL BROWNIE
Costa Purley, Purley
Actually pleasantly surprised - a delicious brownie, right cakey/fudgey balance for my tastes. Nice ripple of salted caramel through the middle
3rd CHOCOLATE ALMOND BROWNIE
Digby's Patisserie, London
This place can be hit and miss, but this particular (enormous) brownie was delicious. Soft, fudgy, rich and subtlely nutty (from almond meal, not pieces). I couldn’t finish even half of it (lucky for my husband!) #bakedgoods #cake
4th CHOCOLATE AND RASPBERRY BROWNIE
Digby's Patisserie, London
Super fudgy, maybe even too fudgy? I like a *bit* of cakey spring to my brownie, at least at the edges? But it was a lovely flavour, raspberries always work well with brownies. The white chocolate chips on top were unnecessary, dark choc would have been a better foil to the sweetness of the brownie. Slightly too rich overall, but still pretty good.
PRETTY GOOD
5th VEGAN OREO BROWNIE
Bocketts Farm Park, Fetcham
So I find vegan baked goods tend to be a bit stodgy, but I thought that could work in a Brownie and yeah, it tasted pretty good but not amazing. I wouldn’t seek it out.
