AMAZING
1st MAPLE MARINATED STEAK
Medford Curling Club, Medford
A truly special steak. Marinated in a maple syrup and savory seasoning blend... This is an incredibly tender and flavorful steak. Roasted over an open flame (in a fireplace!!!), this is a magnificent steak worth every last bite and then some!
REALLY GOOD
2nd PESTO STEAK TOSTA
Union House Cedarburg | Restaurant & Bar, Cedarburg
A well-seasoned and tender steak strip on a (too crispy) tostada with a very rich goat cream cheese and a very delicious pesto. This was a very good bite, especially once through the crispy bread!
PRETTY GOOD
3rd RIBEYE
Exmoor Country Club, Highland Park
An adequate take on the medium rare ribeye that ultimately could have used a lot more seasoning. Almost entirely devoid of any crust or seasoning on the outside, the scant areas of salt and peppercorn were well appreciated, but sorely needing more of it.
NOT FOR ME
4th BUTCHER’S STEAK
Water Street Brewery Grafton, Grafton
Cooked to medium rare on the nose. Random medallions that were chewy and almost leathery in texture. Absolutely devoid of seasoning. Just. So. Bland.
5th GRILLED PRIME BAVETTE
Twisted Willow Restaurant, Port Washington
A little too charred for my tastes… and ultimately underseasoned. For a thinner cut like this, that resulted in a bland and chewy glob of meat that just disappointed.
6th FLANK STEAK
Union House Cedarburg | Restaurant & Bar, Cedarburg
Really tough strips of flank steak, very hard to chew. The chimichurri was not for me. A non-existent seasoning on the meat just made this a waste of time on the table.
