We arrived in Cagliari quite late so we had limited places we could eat lunch. The hotel recommended this place as one that would be open... cue low expectations. We got there and they pushed a set menu on us which said 12 euros for two courses, cue confusion and even lower expectations! This was the primi dish that I got, it’s traditional almost gnocchi style Sardinian pasta with a kind of Bolognese sauce and it was the best pasta I had on the whole trip! Very cheesey, creamy but clean tasting dish.

Homemade tonnarelli with eggs, guanciale (pork), roman pecorino cheese, black pepper. This ticked all the right boxes but went wide of the mark. The flavour balance was wrong and ended up very strong and salty. There were also huge chunks of guanciale fat which I didn't eat, even as a lover of Lardo...
