In a delicious lobster pink sauce. I don’t usually order pasta dishes in restaurants because I’ve found them to be mediocre at best. Besides, I’m (almost) always able to crank out better versions at home. But that changed today. I dare say it’s one of the best pastas I have ever had at a restaurant.
BRIEF: “Steamed crabmeat, onion, garlic and coriander in a spicy cream sauce. Finished with caviar and lime.”
SOOT’S TAKE: Got to try this for $9.90 instead of the usual $27. It was the most interesting dish on their pasta menu but not enough for this to be a repeat, even without the few crab shell fragments in the sauce.
Got the sauce packet at half price to try with an open bag of dry pasta at home. At first mouthful, you taste the sea. But after a few extra mouthfuls you’d be forgiven for mistaking it for local mee pok. I also probably cooked too much pasta for this sauce.
“Linguine, stir fried clams, white wine, chicken broth, chilli padi, garlic, parsley.” Maybe the best dish of the evening, albeit nowhere close to anything worth writing home about.
BRIEF: “Light creamy curry sauce sauce with crabmeat.”
SOOT’S TAKE: As described although I wouldn’t say the sauce was light. Could get monotonous too. & give you the runs.
