AMAZING
1st NUT BUTTER JELLY

BRIEF: “VCR coffee nut butter, banana, chocolate ganache, candied walnut, house-made blueberry jam, seeded sourdough.” SOOT’S TAKE: Scrumpdillyicious and they make good bread too.
REALLY GOOD
2nd NYT COOKING’S RADISH SANDWICHES WITH BUTTER AND SALT
Soots Cook Nook, Private
So simple yet so solid. Happy to have eaten some of the rainbow with these, to have attempted a new baguette recipe and to have disposed off that box of leftover radishes I’ve been desperate not to let rot. 😮‍💨
3rd SALMON CREAM CHEESE CROISSANT SANDWICH
Paris Baguette x teatra, Singapore
Second-last of the 2 left in their case 33 min before closing, but still very good after toasting.
4th LAVAN IN-A-PITA

5th 6” SUBWAY MELT™
Subway, Singapore 138617
BRIEF: “Imagine freshly baked bread stuffed with tender sliced turkey, chicken ham, crispy chicken bacon, melted cheese, and your choice of tasty vegetables and condiments.” SOOT’S TAKE: I had mine on honey oat with tomato, onion, olives, corn dressed with Chipotle Southwest. So satisfying 20 h after my last meal!
6th MILK STREET’S EGGPLANT “KATSU” SANDO
Soots Cook Nook, Private
Happy National Sandwich Day! Nobody at the table thought this was eggplant, but it was!
7th SALMON CREAM CHEESE CROISSANT SANDWICH
Maison de PB by Paris Baguette, Singapore
“Crisp croissant sandwich filled with smoked salmon with rich in-house recipe cream cheese, added with dill, capers and red onion.” The croissant itself wasn’t crispy but overall, it was a good sandwich (I liked that they piped the cream cheese) and I would repeat. Nice change from a lox bagel 🥯👍 #PastriWich
8th AMERICA’S TEST KITCHEN’S SHEET-PAN BRATWURST SANDWICHES WITH RED POTATO AND KALE SALAD
Soots Cook Nook, Private
Quick, easy and satisfying. Making those hoagie rolls from scratch the day before was so worth it.
10th FEASTING AT HOME’S FRANKIE
Soots Cook Nook, Private
Made everything from scratch: from the curried mash potato, chickpea-cauliflower filling, pickled onions and cilantro mint chutney right down to the roti! This is one of few things that gets to be relatively healthy and tasty at the same time. 😉
11th WANPAKU SANDWICH わんぱくサンド
Soots Cook Nook, Private
Made an epic sandwich for lunch 🥪 with Japanese milk bread that I also made in the morning. Yes, I began at ~ 05:30.
14th CHEESE AND POTATO CHAPATTI SANDWICH
Soots Cook Nook, Private
Happy National Sandwich Day! Spiced up cheese toastie of paneer, cheddar, potato with mustard seeds for extra kick and krunch! Or could this be a quesadilla? 🤔
15th CHETNA’S HEALTHY INDIAN VEGETARIAN’S YOGHURT SANDWICHES
Soots Cook Nook, Private
My attempt to experience (if only very briefly) an Indian childhood. Essentially, it’s a slightly spiced up version of slaw sandwiched between slices of homemade white tin bread. It’s relatively guilt-free yet decent.
16th SÁNDWICH DE SALCHICHA Y MEMBRILLO
Tia Lidia’s Kitchen, Private Location
Lidia was pretty amused when I used the membrillo as a condiment with the salami. It was clearly a first in her kitchen.
17th SÁNDWICH DE HUEVOS Y MEMBRILLO
Tia Lidia’s Kitchen, Private Location
I made this up too and so this was also a first in Lidia’s kitchen. 😆

26th SOOTY’S JAMON Y QUESO SANDWICH

Been making some version of this sandwich everyday as an emergency ration since our first day in Patagonia. As with the others, Sooty included dulce de membrillo and cream cheese in her version.

JUST OK
29th KATZ'S PASTRAMI SANDWICHES
Katz's Delicatessen, New York
I hate to say it but I think I’ve enjoyed a pastramiwich more elsewhere, and for a mere fraction of the price they’re bilking out of a visiting diner’s FOMO. Never mind the generous serving of pastrami and the amount of work that went into producing it (“like it has been done for five generations and counting”), the whole setup is too dry for the non-purist in me and is screaming for condiments beyond mustard (which helped a titch but certainly not sufficiently) and at least 3 additional toppings. The pastrami itself is flavorful but utterly failed by the dry rye. If I had to do it all over again, I’d get a Half Sandwich (+Club Bread + Reuben Dressing + American Cheese + Sauerkraut) / Soup (Matzo Ball) combo. Maybe 🤔
30th SANDWICHES
