REALLY GOOD
1st BAILY & BAILY ROSÉ 2022
Dan Murphy's Rosebery, Rosebery
BRIEF: “The Silhouette range of wines produced by Baily & Baily reflect the fun loving nature of our approach to wine; we've used the rhyming of Bingo Calls to name our wines. Enjoy No 62: Tickety Boo. Full of ripe strawberry and rose petal aromas, this soft and approachable Rose has luscious fruit flavours. Enjoy lightly chilled.” SOOT’S TAKE: At under $7 and with an additional 33% of v drinkable rosé, I can’t object to the maker’s fun loving approach to their wine. It seems some days are winnable after all and I shall have some fun today. Maybe tomorrow even👌
2nd SEACHANGE PROVENCE ROSÉ 2020
Cold Storage Takashimaya, Singapore
A crisp rosé from the winemaking team at Château Pigoudet to pair with pistachio pesto pasta, plus it funds medical treatment for the turtles of Baa Atoll, so it’s a win-win.
3rd CUVÉE JEAN~PAUL GASCOGNE ROSÉ 2021
CS Fresh The Star Vista, Singapore
I didn’t understand the stuff on the label about rosé vinification as it related to rural southwestern France’s white wines, but this rosé served its purpose as an easy drinking accompaniment to the pistachio pesto pasta (say it quick) I prepared.
4th TRIVENTO RESERVE WHITE MALBEC 2021
FairPrice Xtra JEM, Singapore
I didn’t know white Malbec existed until now and you know what? It makes for some real easy drinking! ¡Delicioso!
PRETTY GOOD
5th CUNE RIOJA ROSADO 2021
CS Fresh The Star Vista, Singapore
Primarily of Tempranillo grapes. Served its purpose.
6th INDIAN SUMMER ROSÉ
CS Fresh The Star Vista, Singapore
Give someone the gift of not having to be strong in your presence.
7th PEPPERJACK GRENACHE ROSÉ 2021
Cold Storage Takashimaya, Singapore
Preserving my sanity with Pepper Jack Smith and his bottle of Grenache rosé.
11th ARROGANT FROG SYRAH ROSÉ 2015
Woolworths South Melbourne, South Melbourne
In ribet pink. Originally meant as a gift and as a joke to my colleagues, but since that fell through, I shall enjoy it further up north. Made with Syrah grapes in the Aude, Orb, Hérault, Peyne and Uzès valleys of Languedoc.
