REALLY GOOD
1st 해물파전 HAE MUL PA JEON
Pu Ji Mi Eastwood, Eastwood
BRIEF: “Seafood and Green Onion Pancake.” SOOT’S TAKE: Nice but would’ve been greatly enhanced with a dip besides plain soy sauce.
2nd 해물파전 HAEMUL PA JEON
Sisters BBQ Korean Family Restaurant, Johor Bahru
Seafood Green Onion Pancake. Quite different (pancake-wise + dip-wise) from what I attempted In my kitchen beginning of the year, but still good.
3rd SOOTY’S PAJEON (LITE)
Soots Cook Nook, Private
With a lil’ help from my new best friend, Beksul, tried my hand today at making Korean pancakes with the prepackaged powdered mix from the neighborhood Korean store. No, it wasn’t made entirely from scratch and yes, it was rustled up with veg I had on hand (leek, carrot, scallions), but man was it addictive: crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside. Especially with the spicy dipping sauce I whipped up and that tasted very much like the one I make for Chinese scallion pancakes. Fried another pancake to eat. Then fried another one for tomorrow…
7th 해물파전 SEAFOOD PANCAKE
Bab-Muk-Ja Korean Restaurant, Singapore
This was more like an omelette than what I’ve come to associate with the typical Korean pancakes I’ve been exposed to.
