Tried this out of curiosity and am quite amazed that this turned out better than I had anticipated. All the accompaniments were rather good, including the vegetarian ’beef’ rendang. However, not entirely sure about the brown rice cooked in coconut milk - brown rice has a too distinct flavour which overpowers the coconut milk. Really rather good for these snack-sized banana leaf wrapped nasi lemaks. The ‘red chicken’ is tasty and rice is fragrant, and the fried anchovies are nicely salted.
