It’s Father’s Day, and it’s an early celebration! Vanilla & Chocolate, a classic combination, as a 7” ice cream cake. Simple, and well-balanced in flavours and sweetness. Made with real vanilla bean and semi-dark chocolate (by Valrhona, that French gastronomic chocolatier). Sandwiched in with a couple of thin layers of vanilla sponge cake, and lightly laced with fine ground peanuts. Decorated with various pieces of nice chocolate. Is it good? Yes. Is it exquisite? These ice creams are made by the café. Distinctly ‘Asian’ in taste; made with local ingredients and probably with evaporated milk! Seriously rich - especially the peanut one! Two scoops filled me up - big time! They are also used in the making of their shaved ice desserts - Ice Kacang etc. Popular place amongst the locals... Malays and Chinese jointly running the premise and providing the custom - unusual today! #icecream
