AMAZING
1st BANANA LEAF RICE BY CHEF VELA
Vanakam Kitchen, Petaling Jaya
Simply superb! 💥 Chef Vela at Vanakam Kitchen delivers fresh, tasty and full of flavour food. The mutton varuval was simply exquisite! Get on that plane! #indian #curries #curry #lamb #chicken #bananaleafrice
2nd BANANA LEAF RICE
Kadei by Manchula, Petaling Jaya
Another exquisite banana leaf meal. Wonderful flavours, finely made. Had a fish cutlet too, which was mildly spiced and delicious. The chicken and mutton varuvals were equally tasty with the exception that the mutton wasn’t tender enough. Loved the injipuli (ginger chutney)! Get on that plane! #indian #curry #curries #bananaleafrice #mutton #chicken
REALLY GOOD
3rd CURRY RICE
PJ Hills Restaurant, Petaling Jaya
Punjabi curry, and a tasty plate of food! Delicious, flavourful and reasonably priced! First visit, and certainly not the last! Took just a handful of samplers from a variety of dishes (when they were all very enticing)… brinjal, chicken, tofu, luffa gourd and a fish cutlet… and ‘flooded’ with fish and chicken curry sauces. #curry #punjabi #rice #chicken #fish #gourd #tofu #cutlet 💥
4th KELANTAN BONITO CURRY (KELANTAN GULAI IKAN TONGKOL)
Warung Soho, Kuala Lumpur
This ‘Gulai’ (Gulai is a type of dish containing rich, spicy curry-like sauce) was simply delectable - pieces of fresh fish cooked with slices of galangal rhizomes in a wonderful turmeric, coconut sauce. Served with plain rice, slices of cucumber and a hot-spicy ‘sambal’. Simple and exquisite! #fish #curry #rice
5th BANANA LEAF RICE
Restaurant Spice Leaf, Pelabuhan Klang
Gone ga-ga over Indian food this week! 3rd outing for banana leaf rice in 6 days! Must be in celebration of Diwali! 😄 Really tasty and flavourful! ‘Flooded’ it with chicken, fish, saltfish and crab curry sauces! Delicious! Even had a second helping of rice! Along with a piece of fried Spanish mackerel, fried salted chilli, sour mango pickle and russum to accompany a top meal! #curry #bananaleaf #indian #spicy
6th PORK CURRY
Pumbaa's Nasi Lemak and Nasi Kandar (Non Halal), Petaling Jaya
Indian Pork Curry… simply delicious! I need not mention the rest… well, formerly Kadei by Manchula- need I say more?! Give me more, Seymour! #pork #curry #nasikandar #rice
7th BIRYANI & CURRY MUTTON
Gerai Makan Pengkalan Batu Klang, Klang
Served only on Fridays at the cheap and cheerful ‘Tepi Sungai’... a simple biryani accompanied by tender mutton in a thickish sauce... very tasty, indeed! Satisfying. #curry #mutton #biryani #malaysia
PRETTY GOOD
8th FRIED EGG & SHRIMP SOUR CURRY
Kurissara Thai Cuisine, กรุงเทพมหานคร
An riveting dish, classified as a ‘curry’ but could pass as a ‘tom yam’ of sorts. The sauce is light and to a ‘soup’ consistency; sour and mild in spiciness. Served with shrimps, vegetable omelette, carrots and white cabbage. Pretty good. #curry #thai
9th CURRY MUTTON
Restoran Mydin, Kuala Lumpur
A basic, mild and tasty mutton curry cooked in the mornings and nice for breakfast; meat was tender, though the sauce was a tad salty. Went well with the paper thosai. #curry #mutton A nice fresh curry, suitable for a long coach ride! Also comes with Action Art splatter!
10th BANANA LEAF RICE
Restoran Sreedhanaa’s, Klang
This is a budget curry house. Pretty good when one only pays RM13.00 for BLR, a rose syrup & lime drink and a piece of fish! Cheap, with reasons to be cheerful, but is it clean enough? It was. #curry #rice #bananaleaf #indian
