AMAZING
1st GINGER TEA
The Islands, New York
This tea must’ve been made with fresh ginger! It has such a deep, rich ginger flavor & that great ginger burn. The honey it came with made it just perfect. The temperature was just right. I even loved the deep blue cup. I’m inspired to buy fresh ginger & make my own tea. Much better than tea bags! Oh & I even loved the bathroom! Poppies painted on the walls! Frogs on the toilet! Very entertaining!
2nd SHANGRI-LA ROSE TEA
The Qi, New York
The scent is of a beautiful rich rose. I love just smelling it. I hope you can see how beautiful it looks, too. The flavor is also rich & round & lovely, but not too strong.. The tea is supposedly good for your stomach, skin, hair & sleep. It is cultivated 10,000 ft above sea level in Shangri-La. Yes, please!
3rd STEVEN SMITH PEPPERMINT TEA
Little Bird Bistro, Portland
I was struck by the lovely china, but then peppermint tea took the spotlight. It was the best I've had. So deep, rich & interestingly flavored. Grown in Oregon, of course!
REALLY GOOD
4th ROYAL TIE GUAN YIN
Sun's Organic Garden Chinatown, New York
Very subtle and delicate tasting oolong tea with a gently floral nose. Good for getting into a meditative mode. Don’t drink if you’re in a hurry!
5th MUGI CHAI
Hibino, New York
Iced roasted barley tea. Very smooth & gently flavored. A little soapy, as this tea is. I really like it.
6th SNOW HONEY CHRYSANTHEMUM TEA
Coquine, Portland
A smooth, flowery tea, yet a bit darkly flavored.
7th MANGO FRUIT TEA WITH BUTTERFLY PEA FLOWER HERBAL BLEND
McNulty's Tea & Coffee Co, New York
A soft but clearly fruity flavor with depth that goes well with the delicate honeycombed steamed rice cakes. The butterfly pea flower colors the tea a beautiful purple pink color! (This tea is a good excuse to buy those Bodum double-wall glasses I’ve been eyeing for years!)
