AMAZING
1st ESPRESSO
Spella Caffe, Portland
What a rich, flavorful, barking espresso! Yes, the flavor barked.
REALLY GOOD
2nd CORTADO
drip coffee makers, New York
When I heard the owner being interviewed on The Taste podcast & noted his enthusiasm for good pour overs, I made a point of stopping by. Unfortunately, the only decaf they make is in espresso drinks & regular coffee keeps me up at night, so I chose a cortado. It is a rich, fresh espresso with some different tasting notes and a little bitter like 85% cocoa. It is a good quality coffee. I just wonder what a decaf pour over would taste like.💭
PRETTY GOOD
3rd ESPRESSO
% ARABICA NEW YORK DUMBO ROASTERY, New York
It’s certainly a pleasant rich decaf espresso. Maybe a tiny bit burnt flavor, but maybe that’s standard for espresso. I may’ve underrated it because I ordered a Chemex single origin drip right before & it was so smooth & chocolatey with great depth of flavor. I shortly realized I forgot to ask for decaf & they kindly substituted the espresso since they don’t have decaf beans for drip coffee. 😟 I finally got to the only %Arabica in the USA & it’s within walking distance! 😁 Next time I’ll try a decaf latte & I’m sure it’ll be good.
