Wow! So rich, chocolatey, creamy & interesting. From them: “Black as night bittersweet…made with cocoa noir and Brooklyn Brewery’s Black Chocolate Stout. Smothered and filled with dark chocolate pudding buttercream. Not too sweet with hints of licorice.” Both decadent and gourmetish! It did not disappoint & will probably be in my regular cupcake rotation!

Lemon Lavender Cupcake @ovenly is the monthly cupcake special. What a beautiful blend of flavors & textures! The lemon curd filling is bright and silky. That thick, rich, creamy buttercream, clearly flavored with lovely lavender (& topped with some buds, too!) is wonderful on its own, but next to the tangy lemon curd, well my tongue & brain were popping! They enhance each other. And let’s not forget the moist vanilla cake that says, “now, now, tone it down you two!” (Almost $5 is a lit-tle expensive for a small cupcake, but I don’t know how much the ingredients cost or what goes into getting these to us, so it’s hard to judge. The cake has a deep chocolate & stout flavor. The crumb is light & airy. Mixed with the Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur thick frosting, this humongous cupcake is a very chocolatey, creamy, alcoholic treat!
