AMAZING
1st HAKATA TONKOTSU DX
Marufuku Ramen, Oakland
Hakata style ramen with rich pork broth. With chashu pork (simmered pork belly), seasoned soft boiled egg, green onions, kikurage mushrooms, bean sprouts) and buta kakuni (braised thick pork belly), corn, and nori seaweed. Ultra Spicy version... which wasn't really ultra spicy (to me).

6th HAKATA TSUKEMEN
IPPUDO SAN FRANCISCO, San Francisco
It's a seasonal dish and it's amazing. Tender and perfectly chewy noodles are dipped into a delicious pork and bonito broth.
7th SPICY BLACK TONKOTSU TAMAGO
Ramen Kitchen, Albany
The ramen egg is consistently creamy each time I order this. Noodles are always al dente, just the way I prefer my ramen. 🍜
8th PORK RAMEN IN PORK SPICY SOUP
Yojimbo, Alameda
The spicy tonkotsu broth just hits the spot.
REALLY GOOD
9th BLACK GARLIC RAMEN
Totto Ramen & Sushi Bar, Fairfield
I need to come back here whenever I crave black garlic ramen. My favorite ramen shop that served black garlic ramen was a casualty of the pandemic and I now have a good substitute.
10th GARLIC TRUFFLE RAMEN W/ PORK
Silverlake Ramen Burbank, Burbank
served with thick, chewy noodles (yum!) in a creamy tonkotsu broth with garlic, truffle oil, kale, mushrooms, seaweed, and seasoned egg.
11th KARAKA SPICY RAMEN

Somehow, this tasted way better than the same order at the Berkeley location. Finished the whole bowl, down to the very last drop of broth! πŸ˜‹

The huge portion of tempura on this "small" order of ramen totally sold me on this meal!

Really tasty ramen with creamy ramen egg for 9 bucks!

You can choose the firmness of the noodles!
17th MISO RAGING RAMEN

Savory vegan miso broth poured over sizzling Tokyo-stylec ramen noodles, served with sauteed cabbage, shimeji, enoki, topped with tofu and nori. The stone pot was super hot and the broth was just sizzling away!
19th TAN TAN MEN
Katana-Ya, El Cerrito
It’s my favorite, under 10 bucks, bowl of ramen. Great comfort food without feeling like you’ve overpaid for a bowl of noodles
20th KATANA-YA RAMEN
Katana-Ya, El Cerrito
With char-sui, menma, corn, nori, and crab meat. Always a great deal here for a hearty bowl of ramen.

PRETTY GOOD
22nd SEAFOOD RAMEN IN PORK BROTH
Yojimbo and Gallery, Alameda
At their new Alameda location on Santa Clara Ave. They didn't serve me the spicy pork broth I ordered and they comp'ed the ramen. Maybe it's because I didn't get the spicy pork broth, but this just didn't hit the spot for me like the other times I've had their food.
23rd TAN TAN RAMEN (SPICY)
Happy Ramen and Sushi, Pinole
the egg was overcooked. usually it's a jelly ramen egg. there's a decent amount of dried chili to add in a spicy kick. tonkotsu broth was decent and with the spiciness (and cold weather), I finished the whole bowl, soup included.
24th BLACK GARLIC RAMEN
Haya Ramen, Pleasant Hill
Maybe it was an off day for me, but there was barely any black garlic flavor in my soup. No garlic pieces. Maybe they forgot to add it into my soup?πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ Hakata style Ramen with smokey Black Garlic based pork broth. Roasted pork Chashu, Soft-boiled egg, Bamboo shoot, Scallion, Garlic, Bean sprout.
