AMAZING
1st PREMIUM HAZELNUT CHOCOLATE SOUFFLE PANCAKES
Gram Cafe, San Francisco
This was worth the 30 minute wait for it to be served.
2nd PAULA'S SPECIAL
Paula's Pancake House, Solvang
It's a mandatory stop whenever you visit Solvang to have some Danish pancakes. Thin and crisp when it first arrives. The blueberry sauce and whipped cream is a nice addition.
3rd KID'S MENU: PANCAKE COMBO
Paula's Pancake House, Solvang
When in Solvang, a stop at Paula's Pancake House is a requirement 1 Danish pancake, 1 scrambled egg, 1 bacon...plus lemonade (not shown) for $9.99 USD. I'm not gonna lie. My kids didn't want to order off the kids menu (they wanted waffles) and the non-kids version of this was easily at least $15.95...so I pretended that I ordered this for my kids and enjoyed every bite of this. 😋
REALLY GOOD
4th FROMAGE SOUFFLÉ PANCAKES
Cici's Cafe, Los Angeles
It's really fluffy and delicious. I need to come back and try out the other flavors. Soft creamy mascarpone topped with cocoa powder, crispy dark chocolate pearls & whipped cream
7th PAN SAN
Heidi's Pancake House, South Lake Tahoe
Fluffy and tasty! Two buttermilk pancakes with one egg and two sausage links. This may be the best place in South Lake Tahoe for pancakes!
PRETTY GOOD
9th SHORT STACK
Lola’s Kitchen, San Fernando
Holy moly! This short stack was only $4.00 USD. There's a hint of nutmeg(?) in the batter which goes well with the pancake syrup. Definitely the best deal in town for pancakes!
10th ZEPHYR SPECIAL
Zephyr Cove Restaurant, Zephyr Cove
If you're craving a "traditional" American breakfast, then this is really good. The pancakes were delicious and fluffy. Standard pancake syrup with bacon and sausage. Eggs were fried nicely. It's basically the roadside breakfasts that I grew up with during family roadtrip vacations. Nothing really special other than location (lake views), friendly wait staff, and nostalgia for a city girl having breakfast in the mountains.
