not 100% sure, but it's like they took their delicious pork XLBs, inverted them, and then pan-fried them up. super juicy. make sure you let them cool down a bit. the soup inside each bun is super hot!

super delicious! the skin is thin, but not too thin. it holds all the yummy soup inside each XLB as you lift that savory morsel from the steam basket straight into your mouth. nom nom. 🤤😋

These XLBs are filled with chunks of luffa squash. This has more flavor than the ones I ate at Yang Kee in Davis late week. Yum!

The scallion pancakes were a total fiasco here, but the XLBs made up for it. Flavor was great and skin was perfect.

I was expecting these to taste just like their pork soup dumplings, but pan fried. Turns out the soup in these buns has a soy sauce savory flavor and was better than the steamed pork soup dumplings. If I ever come back, I'm ordering these again.

It pretty much tastes the same as ordering the regular pork XLBs and dipping it into the chili oil. The twist seal on the top of each bun didn't hold together as well as the regular. Better off ordering the regular XLBs and dipping into whatever sauces your palette desires.

Really good XLBs for the Davis area, but only if I'm in the area. Not really worth the drive from the Bay Area, but locals love it here and it was a packed restaurant within minutes of opening for dinner hours.

These were really good, but I don't think I'll get them again. Not enough crab flavor and the MP was a higher than anticipated. It was only because it's an hour+ drive for me to get here and therefore I had to try it at least once.

These XLBs are really good, but upon eating these, I've realized I'm turning into an XLB food snob...and thinking that the skin could be thinner and the soup be more savory. ...or maybe it was because I suddenly was craving the XLBs from another place about 30 miles away. 😅

Deliciously crispy without being greasy

The soup flavor is good, but the skin was more pastey than silky. The overall presentation was not appealing, but did taste better than how it looked.

Locals say it's really good, but I've had better. Maybe it's because it was a warm, muggy day and steam dumplings are my cold-weather comfort food.
