AMAZING
1st SARDINES
ONJA Taste Of Tanzania, Cardiff
Had the pleasure of visiting ONJA: a taste of Tanzania 🇹🇿 located in Cardiff, Wales. Ordered a variety of foods but the one you see before you is fried Sardines, Ugali, Onja Chilli Sauce and Okra stew. Overall a great dish. The fish, perfectly crispy, crunchy, salty and delicious, paring nicely with the intense chilli sauce made in house. When you combine that with the creamy, healthy Okra stew it makes a Powerful explosion of flavours in your mouth 💥 When you add the Ugali, the canvas of foods to mix and match the textures and flavours the once almost flavourless Ugali, becomes an amazing burst of deliciousness. Highly recommend this place guys 🙏 ONJA:Taste of Tanzania 🇹🇿, Cardiff - 📍
2nd GRILLED SNAPPER
Restaurante La Frasquita - Fuerteventura, Castillo Caleta de Fuste
As good as you can get in my eyes. Nothing over the top, just a perfectly freshly grilled snapper. The meat was white and flakey retaining all that flavour that we love, but the skin was by far the best part as it contained the charred goodness which obviously helped the texture of the fish. Canadian potatoes and a side salad was served with it but I would have been perfectly happy with just the fish. #FoodReview #GrilledFish
3rd SEA BASS
Restaurante Cloque ao Mar, Portimão
Absolutely perfect way of cooking a fish in my opinion. Charred, crispy, flakey multiple words come to mind when eating this fish. The flesh was completely tender, falling apart from just the slightest pressure and the skin was by far the best bit. A side of garlic potatoes and a the best side salad I have ever had. Such a good experience and would highly recommend if you go to the Algarve. Great service aswell. #PortugueseFood #SeaBass
4th DORADO
Smiley's Restaurant, Kos
A nicely charred dorado fish paired with fries, fresh salad and taramasalata. A crispy golden saganaki cheese on the side for a range of texture. #greece #greekfood #mediterraneanfood
REALLY GOOD
5th GRILLED SARDINES
Buganvilia, Alvor
Seasoned and salty sardines. Haven’t had sardines is such a long time and these definitely didn’t disappoint. So many for such a good price and it tastes so great. The skin was by far the best but having a crispy outer layer with the occasional salty particle with added to the flavour and texture. The flesh itself was also nothing to shy away from because the flavour of the meat was so prominent. I love fish and this was close to the top for me. #Sardines #FoodReview
PRETTY GOOD
6th WHITEBAIT
The Clarence Inn, Brecon
Fried Whitebait 🐟 Ordered a starter of Fried Whitebait at a lovely restaurant called the Clarence Inn located in Brecon. The exterior had a nice crunch to it, with absolutely no sogginess from the oil and the fish had a nice delicate and crumbly texture when you bit in. The contrast worked lovely together. The flavours enhanced, especially after dipping it into the sauce of mayonnaise and lemon which I don’t typically like unless fish is involved. Overall, a good starter and plenty of it, the quality could have been better as it was just pre packaged frozen whitebait but for how many you get I think it’s justified. The Clarence Inn, Brecon - 📍
