REALLY GOOD
1st HENAN STYLE NOODLE SOUP
Feng Wei Shi Tang, London
Flavourful soup with chunks of lamb and perfect al dente thick noodles.
2nd COCONUT NOODLES WITH CHICKEN
Lahpet, London
Love the creamy coconut flavour and the way that fried noodles are added with gives a great contrasting texture. Just a shame that it was warm when I ate it. A combination of the cold weather, being an outdoors market and me taking a few snaps first. Would have been so much more satisfying if hot. 🙈
3rd DUCK SOUP NOODLES
Greyhound Cafe, London
The duck confit was amazing. Juicy, well flavoured and pulled apart so easily (swipe for the photo). Everything else was so-so. There wasn't that much noodles with the duck and the soup was a bit too salty.
4th SAKANA UDON
Koya Soho, London
Bouncy, chewy noodles with a light clear broth and beautiful poached onsen egg. This is better than ramen in my opinion.
7th HOUSE SPECIAL LAMB SOUP NOODLES
Chang's Noodle, London
Love these thick al dente noodles. The soup is so tasty and belly warming especially in the winter.
JUST OK
8th TEMPURA TERIYAKI CHICKEN UDON
ICHIBUNS SOHO, London
Udon had a good al dente texture. I didn't like the broth being poured into my soup at the table. It was lukewarm and quite salty. Also, it made the Tempura chicken soggy. I don't understand why Tempura is put into soup noodles...
