1st MAO SHAN WANG (MUSANG KING) DURIAN PUDDING
Long Beach @ STEVENS, SingaporeI feel like I need to explain myself a bit in this post... so please, humour me a bit. 😂 As a person for whom food dictates every major and minor life decision, I’ve always been secretly ashamed that I didn’t love durians. I know. 😜 Interestingly, I never minded the smell at all - in fact, that gasoline/petrol-y, turpentine-y, garlicy, oniony, sulphury, supposedly offensive smell has always been fine for me! Let’s be frank, there are far worse smells than that.. for instance, 💩!! 😂😂😂😂 Anyways, my real gripe was that I didn’t like the overly fibrous yet mushy texture, which for me didn’t seem worth what I felt was a mediocre-at-best, not-particularly-rewarding flavour. TURNS OUT that the two times I had tried durian, I just had crap durians (shame on the two people who didn’t bother to tell me they weren’t particularly good durians!)!!! BECAUSE I TRIED THIS MASHED UP MAO SHAN WANG DURIAN AND OMG IT IS ONE OF THE MOST GLORIOUS TASTES I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!!!!! I’m never, EVER going to be the same person after today!!!! 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
