AMAZING
1st HOT WINGS
Chicken Ranch, London
This is a boooooold statement to make, but I’m just going to throw it out there. Without the points that sauce can contribute to the score of a chicken wing, THIS is the best wing in London. PERFECTLY seasoned with secret spices (boss man might tell you if you asked nicely, but don’t ruin the mystery by asking), and pressure fried to Heaven-level. That’s one level above Cloud Nine. They’re big, meaty, and on POINT! The only issue is that boss man only does the first joints/drumettes... no second joints/wings. Why? I don’t know. He must have a reason for it. 🤔🤩😂
2nd KOREAN FRIED CHICKEN WINGS
Bone Daddies Soho, London
Forking amazing wings... Surprisingly not too spicy
4th CHICKEN WINGS
Honest Burgers Meard St - Soho, London
National Wing Day review #4: I was so surprised by these wings - after all, Honest is a burger joint first - not a wing specialist. But wow, these were incredible. They’re not buffalo wings - don’t expect that tangy/spicy/buttery flavour here - but they have a flavour unique to themselves as wings. I’m guessing there is some onion, vinegar (or pickle juice), ketchup or tomato sauce, and possibly a hint of mustard powder, in the chilli/hot sauce on these. Because you know what they remind me a bit of? You’re going to kill me for this - but they trigger a faint recollection of McD’s cheeseburgers. WHAT, you say?! Only in the best way, of course! 🤪🤪🤪 You know, that very unique “McD’s cheezbourger flavour”... which I personally LOVE, from time to time. F YOU, I’M NOT ASHAMED!!! With the pickles, dehydrated onions, american “cheese”, ketchup and mustard. If this sounds intriguing, please try them. I still can’t quite figure out how they do it, but “I LIIIIIIIIIKE IT!” 🤔👍🏼😂
5th CHICKEN WINGS
Jackson + Rye, London
National Wing Day review #3. These were amazing! There are three wings per portion, but in reality they are six - the winglet and drumette are still attached to each other. Super deep, spicy, smoky taste. Fantastic!!
6th MARMITE CHICKEN WINGS
Rasa Sayang Restaurant, London
National Wing Day Review #2: Such a unique flavour... not necessarily super super marmitey... more of a salty umami-ness. These are awesome!! Marmite lovers of the world unite! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼. #nationalwingday
7th BUFFALO WINGS
Passyunk Avenue, London
In the words of Action Bronson, “FVCK, THAT’S DELICIOUS!” Best legit real buffalo wings in London. Don’t listen to me - just go and try them!
8th BUFFALO CHICKEN WINGS
The Blues Kitchen, London
Authentic, proper buffalo wings in London!! LEGIT!!!
9th SMOKED GARLIC, PARMESAN & LEMON WINGS
Absurd Bird, London
National wing day review #1: While I usually prefer my wings to be spicy, these are delicious in a very unique, zesty yet creamy sort of way. You know what? They taste kind of like what might happen if you combined carbonara with fried chicken. Yes. Imagine it. You might think that sounds gross. If so, hit the road! If you think that sounds AWESOME, LET’S BE FRIENDS!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 #nationalwingday
10th CHICKEN WING CHUKKA
Hoppers Soho, London
Excellent, succulent, juicy... Delicious Sri Lankan style wings.
REALLY GOOD
11th BEEK GAI TOD
Lao Café, London
These wings are unique... in that they clearly come from a real chicken. WHAT?! What do I mean? Well, they have a wonderful, natural flavour... but they aren’t the hormone-laden, “100 frozen wings in a plastic bag” type of chicken wings, so they’re not super meaty. Just good, young, real chicken. 👌🏼
12th BUFFALO WINGS
BrewDog Soho, London
So, these are interesting. In terms of quantity and quality of meat, these are awesome. They’re huge. Larger than a child’s fist! But the sauce was sort of disappointing, as they weren’t TRUE buffalo sauced wings. The UK still struggles to understand what buffalo sauce really is - and no, it doesn’t just mean “spicy”! It should be Frank’s Hot Sauce and butter. With a bit of worcestershire sauce, and some garlic powder etc... but you get the picture. These lacked the vinegary buttery punch I was promised but didn’t receive! 😂😂😂😂 still pretty good nonetheless. Just dont call it a buffalo wing!
13th STICKY WINGS & RICE
East Street Restaurant, London
Really decent chicken wings with a sweet soy glaze.
14th SZECHUAN WINGS
The Blues Kitchen, London
A very very decent wing. Nice and meaty. Seasoning just missing that little "2% extra" that would make it amazing.
15th ITALIAN CHICKEN WINGS WITH SPICY SAUCE
Bella Italia - Lancaster, Lancaster
These were surprisingly delicious. Juicy and meaty. I have had worse wings at so-called wing specialists!! Really quite good!
16th SPICY WING
SuperStar BBQ, London
Pretty good! Sweet and spicy. A commendable wing. 😄😄😄
NOT FOR ME
17th BUFFALO WINGS
MEATliquor N1, London
Meat Liquor’s buffalo wings used to be great... but seriously, what happened here?! Sauce is wrong, the wings are dry... so disappointing. Will give them another chance next time, for benefit of the doubt, but these were whack! 😥
