REALLY GOOD
1st CUCUR UDANG
Cafe Chef Wan @ TTDI, Kuala Lumpur
“A popular snack made with fresh prawns, bean sprouts, chives and chillies, deep fried and served with two sauces.” We were a little hesitant to order this as a friend had this at Chef Wan’s restaurant and noted that it was a little on the greasy side. However the one here at the cafe was very good. Crispy on the outside and soft inside and jam-packed with fresh prawns. Great appetizer.
2nd CUCUR UDANG
Abah Deli Bandar Puteri Puchong, Puchong
Nice prawn fritters. Worth a reorder.
PRETTY GOOD
3rd CUCUR UDANG
1978 CUCUR UDANG SEA PARK, Petaling Jaya
This place only sells cucur udang (takeaway only) and they have been in business since 1975. They recently went viral all over social media resulting in long queues for these fried fritters so we HAD to try them. The fritters are ok, they are tasty but I found them to be a bit greasy. Chilli sauce was fine, nothing much to shout about. It’s a perfectly fine snack but I doubt I will wait in line for these. Good to try it at least once just to see what the hype was about.
