REALLY GOOD
1st TONKOTSU RAMEN
Menya Appare 麺屋 天晴@Starling Mall(uptown food)Ramen, Petaling Jaya
That broth… wow… It was rich and creamy and full of flavour. Incredibly unctuous. And the charsiew? None of that thin, flimsy business please. Their charsiew here is thick! Overall a great bowl of ramen indeed.
2nd KIMCHI RAMEN
Oiso Korean Traditional Cuisine & Café, Puchong
I’ve lost count of the number of times we’ve ordered this 😅. One of those no-brainer comfort food when we can’t decide what to eat.
3rd AKAMARU TAMAGO
IPPUDO, Subang Jaya
Rich, porky broth. That’s all that matters. 😁
4th TORIPAITAN EXTREME EGG
Ramen Seirock-ya Uptown, Petaling Jaya
That broth is very good. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much as I’ve always favoured a pork-based broth but this chicken one blew me away. So rich and full of flavour. We went back again the next night for dinner. That’s how much we enjoyed it.
5th TORIPAITAN MISO EGG
Ramen Seirock-ya Uptown, Petaling Jaya
Less intense than their extreme ramen but still good nonetheless. Very slurpilicious!
6th TORIPAITAN SHOYU EGG
Seirock-ya Ioi Mall puchong, Puchong
According to them, it’s their most basic flavour of ramen. However this was anything but basic to me. That broth had so much depth and umami, each sip of it was pure joy. The noodles were cooked perfectly too, with a nice and firm bite to them. Highly enjoyable.
7th TORIPAITAN EXTREME SPICY
Seirock-ya Ioi Mall puchong, Puchong
Very good, rich broth with a little bit of kick from the chili paste. Noodles were perfectly al dente. Very satisfying!
8th ABURASOBA
Ramen Seirock-ya Uptown, Petaling Jaya
Dry ramen with their special sauce. This was very intensely flavoured and will whack your taste buds awake.
9th TOKYO RAMEN EGG
Ramen Seirock-ya Uptown, Petaling Jaya
Soy-flavoured broth made from chicken carcass and 5 kinds of vegetables. This is still the best halal ramen restaurant for me.
PRETTY GOOD
10th KIMCHI RAMYEON
Kimchi Queen @ IOI Mall Puchong, Puchong
There is kick and it is satisfying, but other than that it’s the standard spicy Korean noodles. Good for indecisive days.
11th TOKYO RAMEN
Sukiya, Petaling Jaya
I tend to prefer a pork-based soup rather than chicken but this place is a good option for those who do not eat pork. This isn’t too bad at all and there’s quite a bit of chicken with the ramen. Cheap eats, so I wasn’t expecting much.
12th VOLCANO CHILI RAMEN
Sukiya @ Food Street, IOI Mall, Puchong
Not quite as volcanic as the name implies, but it’s alright.
