AMAZING
1st XO
DurianMan SS2 榴莲鲜生, Petaling Jaya
Behold, the XO. The love of my life. The one durian that I am completely in love with. Strong and bitter, with a soft (but not too soft) texture and a slight alcoholic aftertaste that comes with a less exorbitant price tag as compared to the Musang King. My prince in thorny armour.
2nd MUSANG KING DURIAN
DurianMan SS2 榴莲鲜生, Petaling Jaya
What do you do when you have friends visiting from Czech Republic? Take them for a durian feast of course! Sweet with slight bitter notes and a thick, creamy flesh, the Musang King comes a close second in my list of favourite durian varietals. Probably a good thing as the Musang King is way more expensive than my beloved XO Durian. Tonight’s Musang King was priced at RM48 per kilo, but damn was it worth every single cent! This fruit had us all licking our fingers and rubbing our bellies in ecstasy. Pure joy.
3rd DURIAN
DurianMan SS2 榴莲鲜生, Petaling Jaya
Couldn’t remember the varietal as we had several that night. Could some durian expert identify this please? 😜 This place is still as popular as ever and can get really crowded at night!
REALLY GOOD
4th UDANG MERAH (RED PRAWN)
DurianMan SS2 榴莲鲜生, Petaling Jaya
Creamy and sweet with a deep yellow-orangey flesh that has a soft, custardy texture. Good for those who don’t like their durians to be too bitter.
