AMAZING
1st STEAMED PRAWN DUMPLING
Grand Imperial Restaurant Hartamas Shopping Centre, Kuala Lumpur
Delicate little morsels filled with whole prawns. Just look at that translucent skin!
REALLY GOOD
2nd STEAMED DUMPLING IN “TEO CHEW” STYLE
Restoran Foo Hing Dim Sum House, Puchong
Really good, but definitely only for those who enjoy chives. You can see how much they pack in that dumpling!
4th STEAMED "SIEW MAI" WITH PRAWN
Grand Imperial Restaurant Hartamas Shopping Centre, Kuala Lumpur
Very meaty and full of flavour. This was all killer and no filler!
5th SHANGHAINESE CRISPY YAM PASTRY
Dragon-i Peking Duck Restaurant @ 1 Utama Shopping Mall, Petaling Jaya
Soft, mashed yam wrapped in a flaky pastry. Each bite just melts in your mouth. Melts!
6th SHRIMP DUMPLINGS
Fung Wong Biscuit, Kuala Lumpur
For a shop that sells traditional Chinese pastries (more on that in future posts) they make pretty decent dimsum too. Selection is small, but that’s ok. Have a snack and then go and explore Petaling Street/Chinatown for more food.
7th SIEW MAI, SHRIMP
Fung Wong Biscuit, Kuala Lumpur
Plump and juicy. There was a fight for these.
8th STEAMED FISH BALL
Grand Imperial Restaurant Hartamas Shopping Centre, Kuala Lumpur
Not usually a fan of fish balls but I must say these were quite good. Not the bouncy boing boing type, but more the firm, dense, pack full of fishy flavours type.
9th FRIED YAM PASTRY
Restoran Jin Xuan Hong Kong @Uptown, Petaling Jaya
All time favourite. Savoury pork filling wrapped in yam paste and encased in a light, crispy and delicate outer layer. Multiple textures and flavours in a bite.
10th CRAB / PORK DIMSUM
Food Court Terminal 21 Bangkok, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon
Tasty little morsels that come with crab or pork. We liked both!
11th FRIED SESAME BALL WITH LOTUS PASTE
Restoran Foo Hing Dim Sum, Puchong
One of those few times I enjoy anything with sesame seeds. These slightly chewy fried balls filled with smooth lotus paste are delicious!
18th YAM CROQUETTE
Dolly Dim Sum, Sunway Pyramid, Subang Jaya
“Filled with diced flavoured meat, mushrooms and peas” Not too bad for a halal version.
