So happy this was still available as a breakfast special. Ordered with a side of crispy bacon. Yummy!

This was a breakfast special so I don’t know how long it will be available for. I really enjoyed this. Nicely done.

Prefab, Wellington
Got the day off work today and this was a wonderful start to my day.
3rd RICOTTA PANCAKES, CONFIT MANDARIN
Egmont Street Eatery, Wellington
Ricotta pancakes, confit mandarin, pecan brittle, mandarin curd, ginger mascarpone, maple syrup for $20. Our first breakfast out since the lockdown started in March. These were really good. Highly recommended.
4th BUTTERMILK BLUEBERRY PANCAKES
Highwater Eatery, Wellington
Buttermilk blueberry pancakes , whipped bourbon butter, smoked maple $18 ( add bacon + $3 ) These were light and fluffy. Sadly the bacon was disappointing.
5th PANCAKES
Capitol Restaurant, Wellington
Creme brulee buttermilk pancake with stewed apples. $15.50 I thoroughly enjoyed it. Might be too sweet for some but not for me. ☺️
7th XS RICOTTA HOTCAKE
XS Espresso Prestons, Prestons
Lovely and light. Really enjoyed it.
10th FLUFFY PANCAKES WITH BERRIES
Shepherd, Wellington
This was the special on today from Chef Nick. The fluffy pancakes were indeed light and fluffy with cardamom mascarpone. The berries were so fresh and overall the dish was beautifully balanced and not too sweet. Chef Nick said he doesn’t like dishes to be too sweet. I could handle it sweeter but it was sweet enough that you don’t feel icky afterwards.
11th GRIDDLE CAKES
Federal Delicatessen, Auckland
First breakfast on this 4 day food trip. This was delish! Two was just right for me.
PRETTY GOOD
13th PANCAKE STACK WITH RHUBARB STRAWBERRY COMPOTE AND CUSTARD
Maranui Cafe, Wellington
Pancakes were light and fluffy. Must try it with bacon and banana next time.
16th DUTCH PANCAKE
Pancakes Amsterdam, Amsterdam
Savoury option : camembert, chicory, ham and raspberry sauce. Nothing to write home about. Not sure it was worth queuing for.
17th BUCKWHEAT PANCAKES
The Botanist, Wellington
Beautifully done and the pancakes were thin and not stodgy. It was served with lemon tofu “mascarpone”.
JUST OK
18th ORANGE AND RICOTTA PANCAKES
The Lido Cafe, Wellington
Served with poached tamarillos and mascarpone. Sadly missed the mark on texture of the pancakes but they had a nice orange scent. Probably won't order again.
19th PANCAKE WITH BACON AND BANANA
Caffe L'affare, Wellington
It was light and fluffy but should've been split into several pancakes rather than one big one. The requested crispy bacon wasn't great-limp and wasn't crispy at all. Disappointed!
20th PANCAKES
Victoria St Cafe, Wellington
It’s 2 for 1 pancakes and I decided to check it out. Sadly the pancakes were too dense and bland. Extra points for crispy bacon but the bananas were overripe. The plum syrup was too sour and had a strange aftertaste.
21st RICOTTA PANCAKES
Black Doris, Wellington
With bacon, berries and maple syrup. I’m not likely to order again.
22nd HOTCAKES
Cape Kidnappers, Hawke's Bay
They were dry and the bananas were a bit too ripe for me. Top marks for the requested crispy bacon though.
