AMAZING
1st LOBSTER AND SHRIMP BISQUE
Cole's Chop House, Napa
Oh my God... I could come here and eat 3 orders of this! It does not have a lot of seafood in it. That means it relies more on the bisque itself. It is super sexy! I hope no one else in the restaurant heard the sounds I made with every bite. So delicious!!
2nd LAMB SHANK (SOUP)
Mediterranean Bistro, Los Angeles
I've been sick for a few weeks. All I want to eat is soup. It's really hard to find soup for delivery or even to go. But today was the beautiful day that I realized I could get the Lamb Shank delivered to me...right to me. I didn't take another photo because I was sitting in the dark making love to this dish. I realized that I put this dish on my Lamb Shank board (which makes obvious sense). There it is 1st place out of 1. Where this needs to be posted is on my Soup board. There, it's first place position is impressive over some amazing soups. A large lamb shank, so incredibly tender, sitting in a bowl of comforting broth with rice pilaf in it. They may not call this a soup in the restaurant, but it is the King of Soup in my book.
3rd SALMON CHOWDER
Fin Island Lodge, Sitka
EVERYONE was raving about this soup! Best thing we ate in Alaska. They sent me the recipe and I'm going to try making it next week
4th FRENCH ONION SOUP
Perch, Los Angeles
Brioche crostini, gruyère cheese. OMG... this was wonderful! The broth reminded me of boeuf bourguignon. The onions were tender and sweet. I could've eaten a giant bowl of this for dinner and called it a night!
6th LOBSTER BISQUE
The Social, Santa Clarita
Amazing! I definitely want this again.
7th CABBAGE SOUP
Brent's Deli Northridge, Los Angeles
We didn't order this, but Cat (our server) wanted us to try it. I never would have ordered it on my own...and it was AMAZING! We ordered a quart of it to go! The beef melts in your mouth and it has a rich and slightly sweet broth. Definitely try it!!
9th BAKED POTATO SOUP
Outback Steakhouse, Los Angeles
My guilty pleasure... Great with their bread!
10th POTATO SOUP
Outback Steakhouse, Stevenson Ranch
Thankfully, they did not mess up my soup - my go to comfort dish!
REALLY GOOD
13th LOBSTER BISQUE
Oliva Trattoria, Los Angeles
It's tasty, but (sadly) there are no pieces of lobster in it
14th WARM OVEN ROASTED TOMATO SOUP
Saddle Peak Lodge, Calabasas
The soup is poured over a chilled lobster salad with basil croutons. Delicious. Part of the DineLA menu. #dineLA
15th POSOLE
Carrillo's Tortilleria, San Fernando
There is a lot of hominy in it, which is just ok. However, the large chunks of tender pork are magical! And I got it delivered... now I'm happy.
16th MATZO BALL SOUP
Brent's Deli Northridge, Los Angeles
This time, it was me eating the soup. I am not really a chicken noodle soup person, but Brent's is famous for this soup. I wanted to try it for myself. That matzo ball is the best thing about the soup! The broth is really good, but the matzo ball is delicious. I never thought that I would enjoy that. If you like chicken noodle soup, you will probably love this dish
16th MATZO BALL SOUP
Brent's Deli Northridge, Los Angeles
I did not eat this, but was told that it was wonderful. This is a specialty here
18th FRENCH ONION SOUP
Petit Trois le Valley, Los Angeles
The broth is amazing, but the bread is not toasted (or not enough) so it absorbed a ton of soup and took up all the space in the cup. Too big to enjoy and denied me more of the lovely broth
19th LENTIL SOUP
Chelo - Taste of Persia, Los Angeles
Comes with the kabob plates and was the best thing we ate.
21st CONSOME
BRO'S TACOS, San Fernando
Braised beef with onions and cilantro. Also used as a dip for the Birria tacos and the Birria quesadilla.
22nd LOBSTER BISQUE
Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, Los Angeles
Very good, but not the best... I enjoyed it more and more as I continued to eat it!
23rd LOADED POTATO SOUP
Texas Roadhouse, Cheyenne
This place is VERY similar to Outback Steakhouse, but this soup is not as good as Outback's. Nice try though 😉
24th DAL MAKHNI
Tulsi Indian Eatery (Northridge), Los Angeles
"Daal are often known as lentils, but actually refers to a split version of a number of lentils, peas, chickpeas, kidney beans etc. If pulses are split into half, it is called as daal." that little piece of education is meant for me since I want to remember what it is. this was probably my favorite thing in the Thali Menu. I'm glad that I got to discover something new that I like!
25th BUDAE JJIGAE
O.Tofu House & Pankko Tonkatsu, Los Angeles
Budae-jjigae or sausage stew is a type of jjigae, made with ham, sausage, spam, baked beans, kimchi and gochujang. The dish was created shortly after the armistice that ended the Korean War, using the scrounged or smuggled surplus foods from the U. S. army bases.
27th TOMATO SOUP
Binion's Cafe, Las Vegas
This cafe was in downtown Las Vegas. This is generally a seedy and cheap area, so I was scared to order food. My expectations were so low... and this was actually very good. Looks like crap though...what a mess! They spilled soup all around the edges of the bowl! So glad it was yummy.
