AMAZING
1st FILET BENEDICT
Egg Plantation, Santa Clarita
My favorite! Tender filet... How can I ever go back to regular eggs benedict?? Their deep fried hash browns are THE best hash browns ANYWHERE!
1st FILET BENEDICT
Egg Plantation, Santa Clarita
#incredible. 6oz filet mignon on a toasted English muffin with 2 poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. The deep fried hash browns are the best I've ever had. They are like tiny potato chips. Filet was tender. $13.95 was a great price for the quality on this dish.
2nd SHORT RIB BENEDICT
Lilys Restaurant, Mount Shasta
The short ribs are Cabernet braised. They are perfectly tender and the flavor of the meat goes perfectly with the hollandaise and the egg. great breakfast potatoes too. Nice and crisp
3rd STEAK BENEDICT
Cici's Cafe, Los Angeles
Baguette with pesto, New York strip steak, 2 fried eggs and hollandaise sauce.
4th PORK BELLY BENEDICT
Claudine Artisan Kitchen & Bakeshop, Los Angeles
buttermilk biscuits, wild arugula, teriyaki, poached eggs, breakfast slaw, Hollandaise sauce. Biscuits were very good and the flavors all worked well together.
REALLY GOOD
5th TFY EGGS BENNY
The Front Yard, Los Angeles
Short ribs, spinach, chimichurri, poached egg and hollandaise on a tasty English muffin. Interesting flavor. Potatoes were also good.
6th FILET MIGNON BENEDICT
EAT, Los Angeles
Two poached eggs, filet mignon medallions, portobello spread on English muffin with hollandaise sauce. The spread was interesting, but I don't think it added much to the dish. The eggs and steak were cooked perfectly but the potatoes were not. I asked for crispy and they came to me looking steamed. They replaced them, but I had 2 bites of Benedict left at that point.
7th EGGS BENEDICT
Colonial House Restaurant and Bar, Rapid City
A toasted English muffin, a slab of ham and 2 eggs slathered in hollandaise sauce. Served with "American fries" ( breakfast potatoes). The ham steak was amazing, but it did overwhelm the bread.
9th CLASSIC EGGS BENEDICT
Egg Plantation, Santa Clarita
With the amazing deep fried hash browns
PRETTY GOOD
10th STEAK BENEDICT
Cici's Cafe, Los Angeles
Baguette with pesto, New York strip steak, 2 fried eggs and hollandaise sauce. Loved it. The hash browns were crisp and delicious on top, but mushy inside...
10th STEAK BENEDICT
Cici's Cafe, Los Angeles
Steak, 2 eggs sunny side up on a pesto French baguette topped with hollandaise sauce. It's been awhile since I have had this. They made some changes. No longer a thick New York steak cut up in pieces...now it's a thin cut of steak. It's tender, but you're not going to get medium rare on a steak that thin (so I'm not sure why they asked me how I wanted it cooked). Also, they did not toast the baguette at all. This USED TO be amazing... now it's less so.
11th SHORT RIB BENEDICT
Emle's, Los Angeles
English muffin, short ribs, pickled red onion, chives and Hollandaise sauce. The short ribs are fantastic but the hollandaise sauce was kind of tart...
NOT FOR ME
13th EGGS BENEDICT
Cajun Kitchen Cafe, Ventura
I didn't love the crab cake. A little mushy
14th CREOLE EGGS
Cafe Nouveau, Ventura
Crab, shrimp and seafood cake on English muffin covered with a tomato sauce and topped with a poached egg and hollandaise sauce. The seafood cake was fresh and good. The hash browns were tasty. I didn't personally love the tomato sauce in that combination. It actually ruined the dish for me.
