AMAZING
1st CODDLED EGG
Ladyhawk, West Hollywood
My favorite! Chef Buddha made this as part of his "English Breakfast " on Top Chef World Allstars. This perfect egg dish has luscious yolk on the bottom with the cooked egg whites, pickled Hon shimeji mushrooms, crispy black Pudding and a brown butter hollandaise on top. Served with a perfectly crisped toast covered with prosciutto that is divine as you dip it into the yolk. Yummm
2nd BACON AND EGGS
Newhall Refinery, Santa Clarita
Pork belly, pumpernickel bread, pepper honey, mornay sauce and sunny side up eggs. An amazingly delicious culinary combination. That pork belly tho...
3rd STEAMED EGGS
AYCE GOGI West Hills, Los Angeles
I can't believe how great this was. My favorite accompaniment!
4th DEVILED EGGS
Sessions at the Presidio, San Francisco
white sturgeon caviar, pickled shallots, shichimi togarashi, chives.
REALLY GOOD
5th SOFT EGGS
Scopa Italian Roots, Los Angeles
Italian sausage, peppers and onions, cavolo nero and polenta. The sausage is lean and a little dry, but the polenta and egg remedy that. Antonia Lofaso is a master with bread! There were 3 different types with our dishes but they were all grilled perfectly and elevated everything else.
6th STEAMED EGG
AYCE GOGI Van Nuys, Los Angeles
Included in the all-you-can-eat price. It's pretty big serving and it tastes really good
PRETTY GOOD
7th SPECK AND EGGS
Public School 818, Los Angeles
Refilled eggs with crispy prosciutto. Good.
8th OEUF POCHÉ SAUCE AUX MORILLES
Hippopotamus, Paris
The flavor was good, but it was cold. I thought that was weird. Is that the way it's supposed to be served?
NOT FOR ME
9th SLUT
Eggslut, Glendale
I wanted to like it so much more... coddled egg on top of a potato purée, poached in a glass jar, topped with gray salt and chives, served with slices of baguette
10th EGG IN THE HOLE
SteamPunk Coffeebar And Kitchen, Los Angeles
sourdough with a fried egg in the middle cooked on the griddle. Served with bacon & breakfast potatoes $10.00. Bread needs to be butter toasted on both sides. It was too soft for this dish.
11th DEVILED EGGS
Yard House, Los Angeles
Did not like. They are "reimagining" their previous recipe. Not enough yoke in the filling and a little too much Dijon mustard. Adding the "caramelized" bacon is fine, but that spicy tomato sauce is overwhelming and actually made the dish a little nauseating.
