AMAZING
1st BAJA SHRIMP AVOCADO BURRITO
El Pollo Loco, Los Angeles
My favorite fast food shrimp offering!
2nd BURRITO COLORADO
Presidente Restaurant, Los Angeles
My husband's favorite for over 20 years!
2nd BURRITO COLORADO
Presidente Restaurant, Los Angeles
My husband's favorite for over 20 years
3rd CARNE ASADA BURRITO
Carrillo's Tortilleria, San Fernando
They make their own tortillas. My husband can't resist buying a dozen every time we go. Huge and tasty burrito. Added salsa and sour cream. Yum
5th CHILE COLORADO BURRITO
La Casita de Cortez, Cortez
Colorado sauce was very good. It was a much bolder sauce than we've had back at home.
6th BURRITO SPECIAL - CHILE COLORADO
Old Juan's Cantina, Oceano
You would NOT believe the size of this burrito! It was a foot long! It was also wide and thick. Filled with huge chunks of beef cooked in Colorado sauce, along with cheese rice and beans. This thing was enormous. They sell a half order, but we had no idea what we were in for. My 16 year old ordered this and he struggled to eat half. And he is a normal teenager with a hollow leg, so that is saying something. But it was delicious!
REALLY GOOD
7th PORK CHILI VERDE BURRITO
Citizen Collective, Seattle
Added a fried egg to it...cuz I'm crazy like that. Tasty burrito and great guacamole
8th BURRITO DE MACHACA
Sol Y Luna, Los Angeles
Shredded beef with choice of beans (refried on this one). It was good
9th BURRITO MEXICANO
Toto's Mexican Restaurant, Boulder City
Carne Asada, beans and Cheese. Pretty good!
10th BURRITO DE CAMARÓN
Sol Y Luna, Los Angeles
Shrimp burrito with choice of beans (I chose pinto) and avocado. Lots of shrimp, cooked well. Not too much avocado. Drenched in sauce and cheese. Good but not the best.
PRETTY GOOD
11th BURRITO DE MACHACA
Las Fuentes Restaurant, Los Angeles
Shredded beef and refried beans inside with ranchero sauce and cheese on top.
12th CARNE ASADA BURRITO
Old Juan's Cantina, Oceano
Carne asada, rice, beans, cheese. I like that there wasn't too much refried beans. It was pretty good all together, but the steak all on its own was not very flavorful
13th BURRITO CHILE COLORADO
Sol Y Luna, Los Angeles
Good. Beef, your choice of beans, Colorado sauce. Not the best sauce, but it tasted good when eaten all together.
15th CARNE ASADA WET BURRITO
Anejo Cantina and Grill, Los Angeles
Rice, beans, guacamole, sour cream, pico de Gallo and carne asada. The sauce must be made with chipotles since it has that distinctive smokey flavor. That's not my favorite, or my son's. My husband liked the flavor, but the burritos were assembled poorly ( gaucamole in a glob only in one spot, some bites with only rice...) so you rarely got a composed bite.
17th BARBACOA BURRITO
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Los Angeles
The barbacoa is pretty good. I don't know why this burrito isn't great, but it isn't.
JUST OK
18th STEAK BURRITO
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Los Angeles
This was even less impressive than the barbacoa. Too bad since this place is walking distance from our house
19th BURRITO CHILE COLORADO COMBO
Las Fuentes Restaurant, Los Angeles
Beef, beans and cheese inside. This Colorado sauce is very different from what we're used to. It is brown where we are used to having a red tomato based sauce. I don't know how this was made but we didn't like it as much as our favorite Chile Colorado burrito. Getting a combination means that you get rice and beans with your burrito.
20th BURRITO DE CARNE ASADA - WET
Las Fuentes Restaurant, Los Angeles
So disappointing. This became my number one burrito the first time I had it. Is this the coronavirus version of the burrito? I don't know. I'm not sure if I will eat it again until restaurants are open.
20th BURRITO DE CARNE ASADA - WET
Las Fuentes Restaurant, Los Angeles
My new favorite burrito! Carne asada, refried beans, tomatoes, onions, avocado and cheese. I got mine wet which means they add ranchera sauce and cheese on top. The steak was amazing! Big chunks that were tender and delicious. The burrito was huge but I wished I had more ❤❤
21st STEAK AND SHRIMP BURRITO
Pepe's Mexican Food, Oxnard
Carne Asada, shrimp, rice, beans and French fries... I can absolutely do without the fries! Nothing great in it. Just something to eat when you're hungry and there's nothing else around
22nd SURF AND TURF BURRITO
Trejo's Cantina - Woodland Hills, Los Angeles
"spicy shrimp, steak, chipotle slaw, bean dip, pico de gallo" Lies. The shrimp isn't spicy. Tastes like they defrosted it and stuck it into the burrito. No seasonings. Pretty boring for a $14 steak and shrimp burrito.
23rd CARNITAS BURRITO
Trejo's Cantina - Woodland Hills, Los Angeles
pineapple, verde slaw, pico de gallo, fermented hot sauce. Meh.
24th BEEF LOCO BURRITO GRILLER
El Pollo Loco, Los Angeles
Shredded beef, cheese, onions and cilantro with a queso consomme. Poor execution on the burrito. The outside of the tortilla is not toasted, even though advertisements make it look like it is. I don't know why they say queso consomme because there's no cheese in it. The burrito was mushy and I got full cilantro stems in it, which was very unpleasant. No thank you. Not a winner.
25th RED WET CARNE ASADA BURRITO
Lunchbox, Burbank
Charred green onion. pasilla black beans, cheddar cheese and Spanish rice. The Spanish rice is not very detectable in the burrito but the mixed vegetables in it were. That was kind of weird in a burrito. The red sauce was mediocre at best. I mean, it's airport food so I guess this was not unexpected.
26th CHICHARRONS BURRITO
Carrillo's Tortilleria, San Fernando
Different. Good. Probably won't get again... Just get the chicharrons alone!
28th FLAUTAS PLATE
Rod's Tacos Mexican Grill, Los Angeles
The mojado sauce (which costs extra) was amazing! Unfortunately, the pork filling had a strong taste of nutmeg or allspice which was very off-putting. Maybe if we had gotten it with asada it would have been a lot better.
