not only Mrs. and Mr. Carastian enjoyed an open bar 24/7 but the little one as well (NO CHILD SERVICES call needed!). this one being one of the kids drinks. An Überrefreshing Cranberry, Soda and Lime concoction on ice. the little one said: Yummmmm!

It chops cholesterol and bad digestion (says the Doctor). Tasty little thing, all naturally fermented and based on home grown cultures from Santa Cruz, CA (no, not those cultures...;-)). A very refreshing sparkling drink and interesting for Mr. Carastian to see how something like a Kefir catches on in the US- German supermarkets have tons of different Kefir and whey drinks.

Grapefruit Schorle - or for those learned fancy folk (as I learned) "pressé". ;-))) Überrefreshing and perfect for a little lunch break from the coal mines for Mrs. and Mr. Casrastian.

Two guys from Hamburg wanted to make a new cool cola, and over the last 10 years they've put this little cola company on the map offering sustainable, non-artificial colored or flavored beverages that are now enjoying a cult following. This melon flavored one was absolutely delicious - with a fine sweet/sour balance and lots of bubbles. Would go great with vodka! But little C had it straight.

A local family-run Bavarian brewery was on the verge of bankruptcy and decided to give it a go to try 'brewing' soft drinks using the same principles as with beer making. All organic. It started out in Hamburg clubs with a lot of success, and even a lot of knockoffs sprouting up, but the original is the best. This one is Litchi which is kind of a sweet ginger ale flavor. Goes great with food when you can't or don't want a beer.

Just what little C needed... a big juicy burst of fresh watermelon tastiness to help all those yummy tortilla chips go down. ;*) Fresh made Aquas Frescas!! A lovely authentic menu offering at our new favorite taqueria place.

Ahhh... Friday's lunch - now ready to be uploaded (and looking at the pix helps to overcome that fact that it is Monday). This Friday brought Mr. Carastian in another of these Burger Places that are sprouting left and right in Munich. The Burger House. We began with a refreshing Orangenschorle (Orange juice and sparkling H2O).

Wow... the Castians are still behind with getting their sightings uploaded. After the wedding we attended, we decided to have breakfast in a small, local chain of bakeries. This time in their main location. Cute idea, (you eat in the middle of the bakery and can watch the pros making everything), tasty tiny buns and goodies, yet insanely overpriced - even for Munich. THis was Mr. Carastians healthy alternative for breakfast. homemade Lemonade, made out of fresh ginger, lemonades and mint . He felt so... detoxed ;-)

tu felix Austria. Although a wee bit out of context, so true. this soda is beautiful. grape, appley, herby and not too sweet. a great beverage (Though beer wins hands down;-))
