Pfingstvolksfest is kicking off the Fest season and the Carastians consider it training a camp for the Wiesn (Herbstfest). :-) a beautiful giant Brezn for the table to nibble on to start. Wonderful crispy outside with a perfect fluffy and airy inside- you never had a Brezn until you had a Bavarian Brezn

Mr. Carastian on the other hand was smart enough to go CLASSIC bavarian. Weisswurst Frühstück. here part one: Brezn. Nice Crust, fluffy inside. Nuff said.

Ahhh Biergarten... heaven of Bavaria... Shaded by these old beautiful chestnut trees, blocking out the noise of the city... Lies this beautiful oasis. Not Mr Carastians favorite beer (Löwenbräu) but a great little heart shaped Brezen- cute variation. Beautiful crust on the outside a wee bit to dry on the inside but still... Beautiful lunch break. Think about this and all the things you are missing, Reverend - and what is coming up for those visiting:-)

DIY version. crispy fresh Breze, a knife and butter. all you need (with a side of breakfast juice ;-))

Prezel - a standard in Bavaria. But here it is locally made (this is not the hygiene scandal Mueller, my friends). some butter, a perfect crust. breakfast for Mr. Carastian.

KIrta - aka the parish fair is a big thing in Bavaria. filled with dance, joy, dressing up food and - of course good beer. This one is in a museum found by former pro skier Markus Wasmeier. The museum sports old farms, craftsmen shops and a nice Bavarian Restaurant and Biergarten. This staple has to be. nuff said.

and another Bavarian staple... crunchy perfect browned outside. Protecting a soft and gooey inside. some rock salt. to some - a perfect food, from cradle (Teething toddlers grow up on those here) to grave (old peeps are having this as a great foundation for beer).

Staple Bavarian item - although sadly this wasn't a fresh one. :*(
