As you can clearly see, this place is serving up something much more refined and amazing than "pub food". Not a single frozen prepared dish on the menu, only solid home cooking and delicious takes on pub classics. These ox cheeks were the epitome of tenderness - served with a rich braising sauce with notes of red wine, juniper berries and smoke. LOVELY dish. This place just made our MUST EAT list when we return to Oxford!

Mr. C went right for the beef for his main dish - and what a lovely couple slices of beef they were! A lot of care went into the slow simmering of these babies... with the thick red wine sauce and the buttery mashed potatoes to scoop it up with. Very nice dish - small enough to still be reasonable for lunch.
