Accompanying our Brotzeit Brettl (nibble platter!) was the classic brown bread - some with butter and chives, some with Griebenschmaltz (pork fat with onion crispies and crackling' bits OH YEAH!) and some plain for spreading with brie or laying those tasty meats on.
