Inspired by New Zealand’s butter masala chicken pie, this soup is a non-spicy tomato curry with masala-spiced chicken, chickpeas, sweet potatoes and warming spices, tamed with cream and butter. It was my first time eating curry as soup. Wish I’d had some bread to go with.
