This Christmas, I had Malayali food for the first time courtesy of @furflebear and her man. Clockwise beginning at 12:00: biryani rice with a winter melon stew(?), real mutton curry (peeking from the edge of the biryani), avial (a mixed vegetable curry of moringa drumstick, yam and yoghurt), achar, fake curried lamb (actually made of lentils) and a delicious homemade mango chutney.
